My first car was a 1969 Firebird, such great memories. I also really like the Z4MC, just a fantastic car, but I think my favourite has to be my 993, I'll probably hang onto that one.

mk6 gti. drove off the lot never having learned to drive manual. best little car ever, and surprisingly i got many compliments both car and non-car people.

Also had a passast vr6 wagon we used as a family car that had so many quirks to it that it brings back good memories

Though I've never driven one, the 355 was the car I lusted after in high school. To this day, it's still one I'd love to own. I always keep my eye on Bring a Trailer, but the prices of them are insane. Boy would I love a GTS one though.

Mine was a touring as well. The exterior and interior still looks great and has lasted the test of time. I would buy another FD in a heartbeat if they weren't so expensive now.

The FD was the car I used to get "call me if you want to sell" business cards on my windshield all the time. This was back in 1999-2001 when I owned the car.

I actually sold it to buy an E46 330ci when they came out in 2001. Both great cars, and very different.

If I had to go historical it'd be my 93 Probe GT. It wasn't really such a great car, but the V6 in it sure did sing. And I put big brakes, coilovers, and etc. on it. I learned a ton about modifying cars and was at an age (early 20's) where I finally had the funds and basic skills to do it. And a great stereo including a sub molded into the spare tire well.

M235i with Performance exhaust. Great vehicle, they perfected it with the M2 CS but by then I needed a bigger car.

Edit: MkV R32 manual. Not that fast but great character.

Learned to drive manual in one of those! That v6 did sound great Later in life I had a Contour SVT as a daily and that v6 also sounded amazing.

favorite all time goes to my 997 Carrera S hands down, almost 10yrs later and she still keeps me on my toes!

They were a very elegant car. Mine never gave me any trouble in 15 years. I never winter drove it though. It always started and worked great.
Superb A/C it had too. A bit tight inside the interior. Mine had stock exhaust and was pretty quiet. Smooth as melted butter too. Those rotary engines just purr so graciously. Wasn't the best on gas.
Drove mine on the Blueridge parkway a few times and loved it.
A great car and I see why they are hot now.
I sold mine to a guy 50 miles from me and we still talk about it. Working great for him still.

Bought a 2003 Mercedes R230 SL500 back in 2006….was a great car for a single 20-something guy.

Also loved my M6 GC.

Every car I’ve ever owned has become a project, but my favorite is the 2009 328i manual I bought to be a cheap daily grind beater about 5 years ago. For some reason I started tinkering with it like I always do and now it’s become so bonded to me with the transformation that I can never see letting it go.

I’ve just been tinkering with it non stop which I enjoy immensely. The fact that bmw parts are so modular across platforms means it’s now got parts from a90 Supra, e92m3, F80m3, 335i F30, 335i e90, e46m3 csl, 530i, etc etc put into building it as my Mutt track car/daily beater and it just puts the biggest grin on my face every time I start it.

There nothing quite like bonding with a car over the years as you modify and tinker with it. And it’s pushed me to develop new skills like when I swapped the carbon roof from a wrecked e92m3 onto it, or had to machine the f80 spindles to fit my f30 brakes. As the car has grown more capable so have I as a builder/hobbyist and as a driver. (And my cheapo daily beater has passed 991 Carreras, e46m3’s, and brand new caymans on the track…. So it’s just a ton of fun to drive too at about 300hp and 3000lbs.)
