Small tear in tire sidewall

I noticed this today when I was washing my car. A small tear in the tire sidewall. The tires are almost new, only 4K miles on them.

Not sure what to do. I imagine I should have this looked at before it causes a blowout. Has anyone run into this before? Is this repairable?

That tire is done. Check the tire's warranty and replace that tire if possible by itself. That can't be fixed safely and I would not drive too aggressively until its fixed.

That looks like a flaw in the tire not tear from hitting something.

I see 'bubble' often from pothole or curbing. What do you think ?

I had a bigger tear and bubble on my car tire for thousands of miles, and I would toss the car around. Never an inkling of a problem.

I'm paranoid now that I am going to get a flat. With no spare tire, it is something I want to avoid.

I heard that damage to the sidewall of a tire isn't repairable but I'm not sure if that's true.

No one who owns a business will repair that.

the sidewall damage is usually not repairable. In your case it seems there is a bubble if you look above the tear. This tire may have internal damage. You should definitely dismount it and inspect it, and then decide if you want to replace it. It may be unsafe to continue using it.

You can clearly see the bubble under that tear, as others have said, no one will fix that. See if you can call in your warranty, they are Michelin's so you certainly paid for that warranty.

Thanks for all the feedback. I am having the tire replaced on Tuesday. Until then, she is resting in my garage.

I feel your pain, though mine was self inflicted: I clipped a median a little too close and didn't realize until a week later

Clearly mine was much worse then yours but same issue, I had to replace, but I was looking to replace all four anyhow so this just accelerated the decision.
