Taking a quick trip to Nashville, TN instead! Update!

Hey Everyone!

Looking to take a quick trip to Savanna, GA at the end of January / early February next year with my wife.

Looking to get ideas on what to do and where to eat. Wife and I are foodies and like a good adventure. I see there are haunted tours..done that before in Charleston, SC..so maybe something a little different. I am going to try and convince her to play some golf too but that might not fly. Lol

Looking at staying down there Wed to Sun or Thurs to Sun.

Thanks all!

Update! Read below!

I would pass on Savannah. The food is very similar to Charleston but without the cooking school in Charleston.

Maybe do New Orleans instead?

Have a nice dinner at Commanders Palace, Antoine's etc.

My one and only day in Savannah was for a family dinner party on the riverboat. The cobblestone street next to the river seems to be the big tourist draw.

FWIW, Paula Deen has a restaurant there.....

Husk, it’s an amazing restaurant and I have a couple friends that work there.

Well, I haven't been to Charleston in over 15 years and same with my wife. So in essence, it will be somewhat new to us.

We are cool to walk around and shop and day drink, maybe a few fun things to do!

Not interested in New Orleans right now. Maybe in a few years as we have out 10 year wedding anniversary coming up then. Looking for a quick, fun trip.

I will need to check all of that out! Would like to have somewhat of a game plan.

I know there is a golf course there by the JW Marriott!

That's in Savannah? What type of food?

Thanks all!

Savannah in February isn't going to be very pretty at all. One of the draws to Savannah is its various gardens and city parks. May would be a far better time to visit when there are actual flowers and trees with foliage.

I second New Orleans. It will have far more to offer and see. Plus it's actually a bit safer. Food is better too. I'd also recommend driving across the 20+ mile Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge and visiting Mandeville and the various state parks. It's a completely different feel compared to NO.

So a little update!

Wife and I decided to take a Thurs - Sun trip to Nashville, TN instead of Savannah, GA during the second week in Feb. One of our favorite comedians will be there and we love Nashville. I have a few things planned so far but would like to get others take on different things to do there. We have pretty much done everything on Broadway but don't mind a great time.

Any awesome breakfast / lunch / dinner spots? We want to day drink but also have several fun activities planned out as well that are hidden gems that not a lot of people know about.

We were last there in 2021 celebrating my wife's bday and did the whole Nashville toursey stuff and did Top Golf then saw FC Cincinnati MLS team play the Nashville MLS team in their home opener.

So a little help would be awesome from the group!

Thanks all!

If you’re into cocktails, I really recommend the Patterson House. It’s not on Broadway, but worth checking out. Also, if you still need to book a hotel, I can’t recommend the Kimpton Aertson enough. We had a great stay last time we were there. It’s right across the street from Vanderbilt’s campus. The vibe in that neighborhood was way different than the tourist area, in a good way!

Thanks RigaTony1982! Wife and I are always willing to try something new and off the beaten path to be honest. We like specialty cocktails and a great atmosphere that isn't your typical lounge.

We are staying at the JW Marriott there in downtown Nashville by Broadway street. Our favorite steak restaurant is on the top floor, which I have already made reservations for on the Friday night we are there.

I will check out that place you mentioned above. But we want to stay around Broadway however, we don't mind taking an Uber to get to anywhere close by.

Thank you sir!
