T Mobile's G1 Google Phone?

Hey guys, does anyone have this??
I just saw their ad in the official site.. and it looks like a pretty nifty phone! I'm in the market now for a new phone.. and I definitely want the iPhone 3G.. but as a current Verizon owner, I think I might be pretty annoyed from the reception problem all my friends that own one tell me about. Also looked into the Blackberry Storm, but didn't really interest me after hearing all the lag issues, bugs, etc..

If anyone owns the google phone, how is the phone treating you generally, how is the reception? (I have no idea how great T-Mobile reception is) And lastly, how is the compatibility with our Bluetooth system in our cars? Any input will be appreciated.. thanks!

I have it, the phone is great except for two things.

1. Battery life sucks with 3G on.
2. It's kind of bulky.

The G1 works fine with bluetooth in my car.

I didn't like the G1 too much. Battery sucked, bulk, it feels cheap.

I went back with my Blackberry.

If signal reception is your concern, I doubt T-mobile is going to be much better than at&t...

hey mj, let me know if you go w/ the G1. I work for tmobile corporate as an event rep so just give me a call or text if you're interested in any phones w/ tmobile

The g1 so far my customers have been very happy and satisfied with it. The blackberry 8900 is about to hit the stores soon too so you might want to take a look at that as well. The iphone is more of a toy phone w/ call function but if you need a business oriented phone than either/or g1/8900 would be a great choice. If it was me I would wait for the 8900, it's in the corporate stores right now but it will cost you an arm and a leg. Let me know what you decide on and I'll help you out

Hmmm... I never had any problems with ATT reception back home, and now in NC I have reception everywhere as well, but I always hear people complaining about ATT service.

In Wilmington they still don't have 3g though, which is so damn frustrating.

The iphone is a great phone for multimedia but it does not justify the price per month that you will pay for the phone. The data plan itself is 29.99 and does not include text messaging. The cheapest that you pay is 69.98 a month for data+450 minutes which is outrageous!

Its not too bad if you're part of a family plan. Not including any text messages like they did with the original iPhone plan is ridiculous though.

I'm gonna keep an eye on this for near future reference. Been looking into data plans and phones lately, but not sure which way to go. I'm on Tmobile, and like it. I've had att for years before, and couldn't stand their customer service. Maybe they're better now?

I have the g1 cant be any happier. The battery use to suck but they updated the firmwire. No problem so far with battery life.

What do you hate about it? I love mine...
and for the OP, my friend has the G1 and its alright, basically what everyone else said about the battery life, etc.. also I thought that it felt kind of 'cheap' the plastics kind of disapointed me.

Their customer service is getting worse... That's one of the reasons why I switched to Verizon, their service is awesome.

True, but the Blackberry Storm is the closest yet. IMHO they have both their pros and cons
