The Watchmen
I saw it last night and I have to say I was ready to leave the theater after about an hour. The stylistic points of the movie are pretty cool, but the plot as a whole is flimsy as f***. I know it was adapted from a graphic novel, but they really could've trimmed about a hour off the run time (which was 3 hours) and the movie might have been more coherent.
In the end, it just seemed like alot of hype and LONG build up to get to a luke warm ending. (oh and did i mention you are subjected to a gratuitous amount of shimmering blue dick throughout the movie? and a graphic, almost comical, 5 min sex scene (ok this part wasnt so bad lol))

i was reading the reviews and they mentioned the naked part - i was assuming they'd find a way to cover it up in the movie austin power-style.
I might go see it sunday matinee.

just got back from watching this. Pretty bad. I thought movies like this deserved to be 3 hours long because it needed to introduce the many characters but this movie very boring. I had a feeling it wasnt gonna be good as its hyped up to be but its one of those movies that you need to see in the theaters and find out for yourself that it was a waste of money and 3 hours of your life.

I'm going to check it out tomorrow because my friend is hyped about it. I have a strong feeling I will doze off because it's 3 hours long, just like I did in King Kong, lol.

Because you spent around $20? Not sure what it costs in Canada but tickets for myself, the fiance, popcorn and soda comes out to around $35 here. Even if it's the worst movie ever, i'd watch the whole thing.
Glad I didn't go see it. Saved me some cash. Reminds me of why I love this forum so much.

It seems that you need to read the book to appreciate the movie. From what I've observed, those who didn't read the book are 50/50 and those who read the book loved the movie.

I didnt read the novel but this movie was amazing in my eye. Very deep message and not your typical superhero movie. A+

I had mixed feelings over the movie. But I thought yes a bit long but pretty creative over all.

Extremely deep message. Got me thinking most definitely. See I think most people who didn't like it went in expecting insane action. Thats not what it's about though. |

I just saw this today... wow, I want my 3 hours back. The fight scenes and the visual effects were cool, but aside from the first 30 minutes where the comedian was in the movie I thought that it was REALLY long and drawn out. Also, I don't see why the blue guy couldn't put a god damn speedo on... watching him walk around naked got to the point where it was irritating after the 30th time with his package hanging out... it was almost comical in a few scenes.
