What's so bad about the Pepsi ad?

Watched it, kinda understood the message for unity, and liked it. Not sure why so many people got upset over it?

Controversy aside, this seems like a really dumb commercial. Cringe/10.

Not saying this is the best commercial ever, but it's not controversial as people made it out to be. I thought the music was good and there's a bit of humor there. The Pepsi wasn't meant to solve all the problems. I merely represents unity and/or the fact that although we may stand on different sides, you could always put things aside for a moment and enjoy a nice, cold beer (or in this case a Pepsi).

If there is anything to get upset about it's over the perceived support Pepsi has for the civil unrest and protests going on currently. Those ads showing a single protestor bridging the gap between themselves those upholding the law only accentuate division in my eyes.

Encouraging kids to protest when they don't get their way is something that we don't need more of.

Just my two cents.

That and is it just me or is Kendal getting less and less attractive as she ages?

^^ its just you. *edit- for the post above yours.

WTF, I dont get it, what exactly are ppl upset about?

Honestly I hate the fact that companies are such pussies. The second they get a little backlash, they apologize and change right away, so fkn annoying, and ppl have picked up on it. They know that if they want to get their way, they just have to bitch about it.

It's not like companies actually care about social change or whatever the theme of any particular ad. They care about viewers perceiving the brand cares about something that appeals to the viewers so they sell more products. The minute something seems to have the opposite effect they have to pull it. It wouldn't make much sense to spend money on something having the opposite effect than what was intended.

I mean in general, not just ads. and The money was already spent, if they just stick to it, next time ppl would bitch less and less because they know nothing will change. They are making it worse now.

Its this whole "respect everyones opinion" BS. Anyways, I dont want to get into this whole thing right now.

It celebrates protestors, typically ignorant misguided dirty, smelly, antiestablishment, socialist, intolerant, tree hugger thugs who leach off society and their former hippie parents. That is not a typical protest group portrayed.

Peace signs suck. Peace is fine if you aren't at war. But radical islam has been at war with us for two decades. Protesting the US is silly. Go to iraq, syria, iran and do your march.

Black lives matter is a wholly racist bs movement. All lives matter. All lives are equal. Any group that singles out a specific group for preferential treatment by race, creed, gender, etc is by definition racist. Blm has yet to say or do a single positive thing and should be condemned completely in its entirety.

This ad was designed to appeal to snowflakes. Sad.

Maybe have a pepsi commercial that honors our men and women in uniform who protect us, you, your families, 24/7 from crime, fire, disaster, terrorism, enemy countries, etc might be worth something. They're really the only government employees worth having.

Without trying to bring the philospocal discussion down too low, I gotta say I find Kendall Jenner very tasty, not quite as tasty as Freedom Pepsi but tasty none the less.

Now THERE'S a good idea...
From what I see, this is an object lesson in how to manipulate young minds for money. Pepsi has always been pretty good at this.
