I enjoyed Dunkirk as it was a story I read when I was a young lad and love all aspects of WW2. The disjointed time made it extremely important to pay close attention to the progression of the story. All in all a unique way to tell an amazing story.

1MOREMOD , the Spitfire wing is one of the best wings ever designed and as it was made of wood and covered with a very thin mostly paper skin, it has a spectacular glide ratio and remains one of the best fighters EVER designed. My personal top 5 are: P-51 Mustang, F-15C, The Spitfire, P38 Lightening, and F-4 Phantom. Honorable mention goes to the F-14 as a complete weapons system. SakhirM4 , what do you think about my list?

Everyone should also see Darkest Hour. Churchill was THE MAN!!

I'm at work about 3 miles from where Barry was killed. I actually passed the Salvation Army Halfway House this morning.

Fantastic movie and really tells what was going on back then that sowed the seeds of lots of our politics now.

I to am an amature WW2 historian/hobby/enthusiast or however you say it.

How could you leave out the Vought F4U Corsair or the General Dynamics F-16?

Honorable mentions from me would be the FW 190, the Zero, F-86 Sabre and from Mother Russia the Mig 15 and SU-27/35. I'm sure we are leaving out a lot of good ones.

That's my US list!!!! I agree with the F4U Corsair and somewhat with the F-16!!
If we we open this up to internationals it gets really fun! SU-27/35. Foxbat . Flanker. Tornado. ALL of the Delta Wing Mirages

The Spitfire was an all-metal stressed-skin aeroplane, no Spitfire ever had a wood/fabric construction wing.


And Dunkirk was a shit film, as well as being full of errors.

My mistake on full frame. Wingtips and a few parts in the tail and around the cockpit. Thanks for the correction!

All movies have errors. I enjoyed it because when I go to movies I willingly suspend disbelief or I would have stopped after Bruce Willis fired 261 rounds from a single clip in Die Hard.

That's a good list - I agree with adding the Corsair.

I have Apocalypse Now on. Normal background movie to be playing when packing up Christmas decorations... That might also be a good one to try out the new system.

Actually Star Trek, The Undiscovered Country is a great movie to test the theater on. Great sound track and fantastic action!!

I loved the wide angle shots..

The film was meant to be long and drawn out to slowly build the hopelessness the Brits felt on the beach that day.

Also did you guys realize they NEVER showed an enemy (their face etc) that was also an interesting film technique.
