Documenting Service Maintenance
How are you guys documenting mods/service/etc
Nothing crazy. Just a excel spreadsheet I took a pic of the cluster just to -remark- the odometer reading of when I swapped tires. Not the best way to insert it into the excel document so I just saved the photo as a PDF and just dumped a filename as Tire Swap 030723.pdf.... There must be a fancier way than this right ? |

I scan all receipts as PDF, incorporate date and mileage in the file name, and save all files in Dropbox. If pictures are needed, I add them to PDF files as new pages.

Like DUH. After reading this, I added a second page PDF to my mount/balance receipt. In Retrospect, I undid it and kept it as a jpeg and pdf'ed it. Shrunk it from a 11mb HEIC to a 169KB file
Because, when I swap for snows again, it's going to be single pdf. Just trying to be consistent. |

I have folder in my file cabinet labeled "M3" and I put all my receipts for anything service/mod related to my car in. Been doing it like that for 40 years and it's worked well so far.

I do the same thing for my M2. Like wise I have had this practice for too many years.
