Apparently the car was originally a diesel that was pieced together from parts from 4 stolen M3s, and had a shoddy weld holding it all-together. Hence why it was impounded & crushed.

What I want to know is where the shoddy weld was? From what I have seen you don't have to weld any of the frame to get the touring converted. I know a cover has to be changed underneath, something to do with the drive shaft. And the rear bumper has to be fabricated to match the flare but that's it. If the F31 was in an accident why would you go through the trouble of stealing 4 cars and you can't even get a good F31 chassis? I think they're just bullshitting.
