Cool Any one know a thing or two about Surveillance Cameras?

Hey guys

So I need to set up some surveillance cams for inside a business or specifically around the cash register.

Can anyone learn me on the subject or point me in the right direction?
Any cams that are good on price that I could get a live view on my phone or home computer?

Got about 5 of them recently and they work well. Particularly in the application you're looking to use them in. They are wireless, you just need a power source. You have Pan & Tilt, audio, as well as a speaker for 2 way communication.

I bought some cheap ones from BJs. It came with 8 cameras but has 16 channels if you want to add more cameras later. The price was $399 online at BJs.. The quality is not that great but it works for my 1500 sq/ft store. I will be putting some up at the house once I move.

i work installing security camera systems mostly in schools or buildings with our largest one being over 200 cameras, for what your saying it sounds like a Digital Watchdog system would be good, they make 4,8, and 16 channel DVRs that can be watched over a network and they cameras are reliable and are steps above cheap homeowner kits

btw im not affiliated with Digital Watchdog lol, over the years we have just had good luck with their systems

^ this, currently have these installed at work for a remote warehouse and they work well and are dependable. Now if the owner would only fire people for stealing it really would be a deterrent.

You want a ip based camera with onboard memory. This will keep you from having to run a DVR and the image quality is substantially better. You can also use dynamic dns on each camera and log into them from anywhere you have an internet connection based on the Host address.

I'm not a big fan of analog cameras or even ip based DVR systems. My proposal keeps it clean and simple.

This is what I use and its awesome. http://www.videoiq.com/product/icvr-hd-camera/
