In-ear/earbud headphone thread
I tried searching all of my posts and with keywords, but couldn't find it.
A while ago, there was a thread about earbud earphones and which were rated best. In the thread was a link to another site (posted by a member) which rated almost every model on the market and included a chart, which I linked inside of the thread. Dag gonnit if I can't find it now. The chart was awesome, as it broke the models/brands down by price range and overall rating. Anyone remember that review site?

I tried and few (earphones and headphones) and the Shures have the best noise isolation and sound combo.

I actually produce with my set, real nice balance, a clean bass delivery, not too much high end. I was blown away when I plugged them into my ipod lol. I couldn't believe it. Had me actually want to listen to songs I had heard over and over again.

I hate earbuds that have a little rubber piece that seals your ear.
Most of the music I listen to has decent amount of bass, and air not escaping out just gives me a terrible headache. Im actually fine with iPhone headphones, even though they don't sound all that well. I would take a OK sound vs. bad headache any day. Other than that, studio Sony MDR-7506 FTW.

http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-S4i-Pr.../ref=pd_cp_e_1 A few notes about it : 1. Bass is quite good but you have use the right plastic ear piece to insert the speakers as deep into the ear cavity as possible or it will sounds very shallow and squeaky. That had been a problem for me in the past with most in-ear headphones because my ears would get really itchy and uncomfortable. However, Klipsch one comes with 5 different type of plastic in-ear adapter pieces to fit any kind/ shape of ear canal. Only one fitted me well and that's all I needed. It feels quite comfortable and stable too so I don't feel like yanking them off after 5 minutes like most others I tried in the past. 2. S4i comes with an in-line iPod control (VOL+, VOL-, ANSWER/PLAY/PAUSE/SKIP+/SKIP-). I thought that was quite handy since I mostly listen to my iPod while walking my dog twice or three times a day but unfortunately it does not work with older iPods (iPod Touch - 1st Gen, in my case). So don't waste and extra $20 to get that if you are using it on an old iPod. Regular S4 should work fine and costs less. |
