Question For those who know Houston

Hey all, newb here. Been lurking since I got an 06 E90 a few months ago. I'm 24, graduating in May and have job lined up in Pasadena. Anyone have suggestions on neighborhoods/apts to consider in the Houston/Pasadena area? Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!

Are you going to be making a good salary? If so, don't live in Pasadena. Go North if you don't mind a longer commute...or West.

Salary is solid, don't mind a commute, but I'd like to keep rent around $800/mo for a 1 bdrm. Originally I was looking at Midtown, but everything there looks $900+, unless it's a tiny studio. What is to the west?

Your best bet is probably Pearland or Friendswood.

I did some contract work in Houston a few years ago. Inside loop 610 is very active, if you will and can get higher in price. I found a 3 br house inside the outer loop, beltway 8 west side, 2100sf for $1200. It was nice enough. Great neighbors etc..

Friendswood is kind of out there. I don't know the scale of this map but Houston is MASSIVE in size and it is a drive to downtown. Sugarland is active, or was, and pretty clean. If you want to live out a bit.

Traffic and hobos at the corner are bad. We all know about the heat.

Came back to Dallas. I like it better. G/L and welcome to Texas Pardner!

In Austin right now. This is like getting around in my neighborhood. Not too big and not too small.

Houston blows. Austin FTW. I'm glad I don't live in Houston anymore. It takes too long to get anywhere and too humid.

I would prefer Austin, but as a chemical engineer Houston is the place to be.

Coming from the Midwest, I look forward to the more "generous" Texan girls (from what I've heard)

^ Not so much as "Hail Country". My friend north of Ft. Worth said it hailed baseballs last night. That would hurt.
