Threatened by someone on eBay; what do I do?

I sold something on eBay about a month ago, and recently got a complaint from the buyer; he told me that the item broke due to bad quality and wants a refund. I was like WTF!? Now, he is saying that he got my info through Paypal and is threatening that he is going to come find me since he lives pretty close to me.

Is he telling the truth? Can he ask Paypal for my info?

Doesn't matter, you need to file a formal complaint through eBay first, then Paypal.

This will more than likely get the person's ebay account suspended. Not to mention, if something WERE to happen where he approached you, you could sue his ass so fast he will have wished he never signed up for Ebay. You could probably get a decent amount since he's already made a threat, it's premeditated.

Tell him thanks for threatening you in writing and that you will be filing a police report.

Also there is more then one way to get your info. If you mailed the item to him then chances are your return address was on the package.... which also means you have his info as well.

Your information was probably on the package you mailed him. Right?

Just tell him that if he keeps threatening you will notify eBay, Paypal and the Police.

He has your address regardless because you shipped out the item to him right? The return address is where he will turn to. That's all he should know for now. If he does end up coming on your property either take care of the problem yourself or call law enforcement.

he may have your info from the return adrsss on the item you shipped, he also has your email adress from paypal. also he has your first and last name from the paypal transaction.NO, a payal employee did not give him oyur information, it was made available legitamtely through th epaypal transaction. with your name,email adress, and email adress it would be easy to do all kinds of damage..my advice, work it out with the other party and come up with a peaceful resolution. if that snot possible, save his threat and when he files the complaind against you on paypal use that against him

i would print out his threat and report it to the police as soon as you have time so that they have on file a record showing the threat. That way if anything were to happen, they can go back to that file. I don't think the police could do anything right away but they can take your report still for future use. Hopefully they won't have to though.

File a police report that way if something does happen then they already have it noted. If you've already told him to leave you alone and he still persists then the police can do something about that. That's what happened to me. Soon as I filed a police report everything was taken care of.
