Your opinion is fine. It seems like lots of people who have been on this board for a while enjoy this thread. If you don't like it, just steer clear. There are tons of threads all over the forum that I think are boring or even lame, but I just move on. No need to blast the guys having a good time with their toys.

Sadly it's across the Bimmerpost boards.

I'm only sticking around on Bimmerpost for here's my wife draped across the car bonnet

Nice!
Love Seiko divers watches.

Had an skx007 a few years ago and ust bought a Turtle re-isssue (srp773) as my new beater.

Congrats on owning a SD4K now, as the prices will just go up considering the 2.5 years production run.
W
Actually wearing mine today, such a nice watch
Not a fan of thr new 43mm SD with the cyclops(!).

Thanks brother. Always have appreciated the mechanical nature of automatic watch movements and the value many higher end watches maintain make them a good investment piece with relatively low depreciation (some actually appreciate in value) that I can enjoy as a daily wear item. I surf with them, paint the house, work in the garden....in fact the only time I take a watch off is when I'm wrenching on one of the cars as things tend to get stuck when working in tight spaces. Even then, I just place them on the tool bench until I'm done. Now if Rolex would only make the 116710 with the Pepsi bezel in stainless steel and not white gold I would be in heaven. Cannot justify (or afford) a $30K+ watch but I still do want it

Same story here.
Ther is something quite fantastic about mechanical watches.
From a rational point of view there is no need for them at this time and age but i find the mechanics fascinating.

Movements with very complicated and old engineering with all the small cogs, wheels and springs and yet it can have such a a fantastic precision.

I have the same approach as you to my watches

Since i started collecting and trading I have not lost any money as the appreciation of some watches has been greater than depreciations and running costs of the other watches.

A steel Pepsi GMT 2 would b nice but I doubt Rolex will go that way.
I wish they would but I donít think itís very likely.

On a personal note I am not a huge fan of the maxi cases even though the 116710 has somewhat narrower lugs than the recent submariners.

I did own a 116710 but sold it and went for the ceramic Sea Dweller which has the narrower case that I prefer.
It is however a bit too tall and does not sit as nice and flat on the wrist as the 116710...
Still a nice watch, and now collectible since itís been discontinued.

I also have a white Explorer 2 16570 which is one of my favorites to wear, despite the somewhat inferior build quality compared to the newer references.

Itís a fun and, if you play your cards right, an inexpensive hobby if you are not counting having your money tied up in the watches

Awesome! You mean like a PAM688 3 day GMT? OR the PAM689?

I have a PANERAI88. Just waiting on my M2 for August 4th delivery after I did ED.

I figured everyone would pull up in a rolex.

Im into Watches myself. But I always stood away from Rolex because everyone has one. It is not unique and not cool looking in my opinion. I prefer PANERAI, Patek, Lange, or AP. Just waiting patiently for my M2 after a great ED in Munich, Monaco, Florence, Rome and Venice.

I will post my PANERAI timepiece with my M2 then. Cheers

I think Rolex makes great watches but I suppose many buy them solely because of brand recognition.
Rolex watches domhave outstanding reliability, are cheap to service and the best time keeping I have experienced. Value appreciation i general is an added bonus.

Patek Philip and AP makes fantastic watches but I would consider them being a step above rolex in terms of market segment.

That being said I appreciate all kinds of watches and brands.

Besides Rolex (just to try and say I am not just a huge fanboy) I have also owned and own some of the below brands:

Grand Seiko
Seiko
Orient
Omega
IWC
Tudor
Tag Heuer
Ball
Bathys

Just saw this post. Green?

See my new threads....

"What kind of gun to you have with your M2 today?"

and

"How big is your house that you park the M2 in?"

Oh and::

"What kind of Camera do you have with your M2 today?"

Man, that comment is just a bit offensive. This site is kind of a social site! People like to share common interests.
