I recommend grabbing a bottle of RedBreast 12 or Yellow Spot. Either one of those would be a great start.
Also, the Jameson Lively is amazing as well, but I don’t think it’s available here in the states. But if you see it, grab a bottle, you won’t be disappointed. Here are some of my favorites in my collection (Irish).
Let us know what you get and how you like it.
Cheers!

Connemara is good, if you are looking for s/t at a lower price point; I like Irish but don't love any enough to go past the 40=50 dollar range (was into Redbreast until it spiked up in price).

Do you have 14 bottles of Proper 12? That is absurd! I see a few good scotches thrown in here.

Connemara is a peated Irish whisky, probably very different than most other ones you can get.

If you like Connemara you would likely like Talisker 10, I find them comparable.

Got about 4 bottles coming Saturday (my brother lives near a store with crazy selection and we facetimed) and he is also bringing a Balvenie 21 port wood.

My go-to is called variety. The only time I have 2 of something is if I am about to run out of the first one and it is worth replacing. The other time is if something is deeply discounted and I know I will drink it over time, and even then it would likely just be 3-4 tops.

Anyone tried this? I couldn't find a non artsy picture that didn't have someone's fat hand in it.

I took advantage of a case discount and loaded up on the Proper. It’s no big deal to have multiple bottles (for me), I have plenty of room for much more. I have pairs of Blanton’s, Weller 12 and much more. I like redundancy, see photos below.

Ok, I'm boring. But I'm stuck in a Prop12 rut. Worse things have happened, so I'm not complaining.

Makers White is apparently only available at Bardstown. It's the raw spirit base, no aging.

I tried Buffalo Trace White Dog once, one sip, and thought I'd jacked up my palate permanently - took 3 days to clear the taste. Reminds me of Zima, but somehow more offputting. Whoever thought to age it in barrels deserves a historical version of the Nobel Prize.

Had some Jura Prophecy the other night. Bottle suggests to the reader that it is heavily peated, but I'm not sure I'd agree. Maybe it is just heavily peated compared to all their other offerings.

Not bad though - an interesting first glass. I'll come back to it in a week or so to see if I find it to be the same experience.
