Question Help! E60 key fob cannot open door but works in ignition after dissembling

Hi Bimmers,

Your help is badly needed and greatly appreciated. I have a 2008 BMW 5 series whose key fob is getting worn out pretty bad so I took it apart and put the circuit board in a replacement key fob case. However, after I did that, the key fob can no longer open the door remotely, although it still works perfectly once I open the door with a manual key and put the fob in the ignition. It can start the engine and remembers the position of my car seat. I had thought there was something wrong with the replacement key fob case but I have the same problem with another replacement key fob case and even after I put the circuit board back in the original key fob case. I cannot see any damage to the circuit board or the battery either. I watched many YouTube videos and searched online but could not find a good solution. Anyways, I am really confused and could really use your help.

Thank you!
