Limited Edition BMW M1 Monaco watch band?

Only 79 were made, from leather harvested from the interior of a 1980 BMW M1:

Not sure how I feel about cutting up a rare car like this to make them, but I really like this style of watch band.....

Sold out and only for Apple watches. I would have purchased one if they made them to fit normal watches.

What a waste. Making a strap for a watch that'll be obsolete in a year or so (when the next new one comes out).

I'm pretty sure that the Apple mounting lugs are removable, and you can stick a standard pin in their place to mount it on any watch that can use a 24mm wide band.....
