Floppy boot on e60

Hi all haven't found much useful via search...

My boot opens on the button like it should, but when you push it up it won't stay open, just sort of flops back down towards being closed all the while.

I notice the springs seem to have adjustment so you can tighten them. Is this a proper fix or should it be new springs only?

Cheers Jim

New boot gas struts needed if it's like an e90. You might find better information on an e60 forum?

You need to do what the person above me suggested. Google all the numbers on the gas struts holding the trunk open until you find something that looks like them. Order, and replace yourself, it's dead simple.

well moved the spring back to the next slot (on the bottom rail) boot now opens fully from pressing boot button on the key, and stays open instead of hitting me in the head. Winner.
