Top 50: Fastest Cars
The M5 is the fastest 4 door on the planet, only beaten by the Hyper Exotics! HAHAHAHA

Very cool even though a lot of those speeds are wrong...
Porsche Turbo - says 193, but many have gone over 200 with no grade or tailwind LP640 - been proven to hit at least 219, not 213 whatever, more power to the M5!! |

I thought the CTS-V was faster than the e60?
EDIT: Nevermind, now that I read it, it's referring to top speed (which is sooo important).

They put pics of the new GT3 in place of the GT2, McLaren F1 LM in place of the regular F1, and Scuderia 16M in place of the F430
FAIL

i just find that is seems hard to beleive a big car like the m5 can reach 205. nuh uh, i need proof, that source seems pretty crappy. Looks like it was made be a 9th grader.
the m5 is just too big (and look at how damn aerodynamic the cars around it like) and then look at the m5, its just doesnt look like it should go that fast. Its just math, its got around the same power as say, a z06, but weighs roughly one thousand pounds more. And it just doesnt look nearly as aerodynamic as that damn chevy. So how in the world is it that much faster?! |

I can confirm that using formulas we use for our land speed record cars (records set at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, UT) that the M5 should be capable of over 200. Several people claim to have done it, and BMW says it can do it. Are you going to continue to argue the point? |

Not really.. The M5 is faster because of gearing. The CTS-V runs out of steam just north of 190mph

so faster in a straight line is what your saying... ctsv is faster around a track which imo is more important than having a top speed of 205 which your never going to get to anyway..

Not that either..... In the comparo (forgot which rag) they had Bill Auberlin in an M5 vs. Heinracy in the CTS-V, and they posted virtually identical times with the CTS-V slightly nudging the M5 around a race track. They commented the M5 could have been slightly faster but they ran out of time. The point is M5 / CTS-V around the track, the performance is almost identical and the variable will be driver skill.
