Just the difference between Scotch and Irish Whiskey, maybe? The Jameson's just seems beefier. More full flavored.

If you drink any whisk(e)y and enjoy it then you can probably find a scotch to suit you. The flavour profiles are all over the place. You just need some help finding the one you like.

Although Scotch isn't my fav or "go to", I do enjoy the right one.

This is certainly one of those! For my Scotch fans, I highly suggest you try it if you can find it.

I tried this, very smooth and easy to drink.

Not a ton of character but still a good whiskey.

Yeah, you get about as much character as you would expect from a 40% $40 bottle, definitely nothing impressive from BH in my opinion. I have been preferring higher proof (preferably barrel proof) choices these days as they usually have a lot more flavor.

agreed. for those who like the higher rye mash bill of basil hayden but want more punch, then i'd suggest old grandad bottled-in-bond or really step it up with the OGD114. they are not as refined as BH, but you will know you're drinking whiskey!
