Still to this day though the best bang is Casamigos Reposado PENDING you can find one before 2017 (before the buyout). I've been lucky to find some from 2014-2016 that are delicious.
Thanks. Yes, Casamigos is really nice too.

Have you tried the Crown Royal Rye offering?

Still my favorite for a rye is Basil Hayden, but CR has made a definite positive impression

havent tried the CR northern harvest yet nor the BH rye...but arent they both over $40-$45?

i can find bulleit rye for about $23 all day long...and it's 95 proof, providing a nice bite.

there's plenty of other ryes that i like better...but for $23, my palate likes bulleit.

Bulleit 95 Rye is on sale for $17.50 at my local store, I almost grabbed bottle. Maybe next time.
I grabbed these instead. The Stagg Jr was a special allocation bottle and the CR Peach is limited to 2 bottles per customer.

I noticed you are in TX. What city? Because CR Peach is completely out around here in my area of Collin County. That stuff is my next favorite right behind Plantation!

I’m in the San Antonio area. CR Peach has been out of stock since it was released. I was shocked to see a few bottles on the shelf, and that customers are allowed 2 bottles each. I’ve never tried it, and don’t drink CR but I couldn’t pass it up. Also, the store that I bought it at isn’t open to the public, so I think that is a factor.

CR comes with a fine felt bag though. . . OK, all my reels now have a cover.

I think the CR was in the mid-$30s, BH in under 30. CR is 90 proof, but I thought the Buellit was 95% Rye, while being 90 proof.

CR has maybe a single pour left. Patron is gone. Kirk and Sweeney is gone. It was a good birthday party!

The Stagg Jr. is good for a $50-60 bottle but I just have to laugh at the CR Peach craze.... I just don't get it. It is mediocre stuff but man is it apparently popular. It is not that hard to find around here though.

I’ll put the Stagg into the collection and crack it open someday. It might be next after I kill this bottle of Weller 12.
As for the CR Peach, I don’t drink it, I’ll use it for bartering and get something I really want. Apparently it’s a hot commodity in this region. I now have 4 bottles of it.

I can appreciate that use of the Peach for sure. I did similar with Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare since those are mediocre at best IMO, but they are highly sought after.

The Stagg Jr does well after a few weeks of breathing and some water (I prefer a single ice cube for that bottle). Probably nothing TOO special that you need to hype up though

ah you're right on the 95% rye vs 95 proof...but i still prefer it over most ryes that cost much more.

sounds like you definitely need a liquor run!

and FWIW, the thought of peach whiskey triggers my gag reflex.
