Yeah, I hear you, I don't actually like Toronto and would never consider living there, but its not bad. I'm out in the country, near Barrie, much nicer!

In the summer you should try to get out of the city - if you like nature, go do the treetop trekking at Horseshoe Valley resort (just tell them in advance you want to do the purple course (I think its purple, whatever was before black) - its a good course in the trees with a reasonable number of ziplines (albeit it short). You could try the black, but I've never done it...doesn't appear to be any ziplines...more just obstacles than anything else.

Or go up to Algonquin Park if you really want to get away.

Or go somewhat southwest to do a hike along the escarpment.

Lot of good places, and winter really isn't bad once you're here long enough...just take up some winter sports like skiing / snowmobiling and you'll enjoy that aspect too!

You Northerners and New Englanders can have your "great summers" that last two months...I'll take the heat down here in TX any day. Actually down here in SA, your "Summers" are four months of our year (April, May, October, and November). The rollercoaster winter sucks, but it lasts 3.5 mos. max. High of 75 today...have fun dreaming of warmer climates while you shovel, guys.

Been pretty easy going here this year. No long cold spells, no major snow. We were in Chicago for the big storm over Super Bowl weekend. That wasn't much fun. But otherwise we've lucked out. Got about 6 weeks left before we're clear of major snow storms or cold. Then it's tornado season.

Hahhaahha, oh I know. Go up there all the time to visit friends. Early last year, got stuck in a snow storm, saw a guy out the window trying to drive his 2000 M Coupe in a Toronto snow storm. I'll be headed back up in a couple of weeks, hopefully the weather plays nice..... Na Canadians invented snow. Just pop into a Timmy's and warm up.

IF I wasn't so embarrassed by how many damn warning lights are on my dash, I was tempted to snap a pic last night at 8:29 showing the outside temp at 74. I can't sleep when it's that warm.

From tonight through Monday the temp hovers at around minus 20 ffs. I mean REALLY.

DC this year isn't even remotely close to last year. Last year was a disaster... snow on top of snow and it kept on going and going. This year we have had only 2 legitimate snow days... albeit it has still been very cold.

Funny how no one from TX has gotten on any forum I've been a member of for the last 15 years has ever posted a thread titled in this manner pertaining to heat. Even when some parts of the state or 30+ days into consecutive 100+ degrees...yet there have been/will be another if D.C. or NYC is over 90 degrees for more than 3 (and whomever posts it will call it a "heat wave").

Never understood this. Simply no comparison. If it gets too hot you get to take clothes off and jump in the water (or go inside). So basically all summer you get to play on the beach, chill by the pool, or stay inside with your AC. Then during "winter" you have freaking amazing perfect weather. So you spend all winter doing outdoor activities, driving with the top down and wearing your jacket while you watch the crazy Canadians at the beach.

Cold on the other hand, is a HUGE pita. Only way to escape the cold is to put on a shit load of clothing, jackets, hats, scarfs etc (and I'm still cold) or go inside where the heating drys the fuck out of the air and you can barely breathe (I imagine you eventually get use to it). Then anytime you go somewhere you have to take off all the shit you put on or you start sweating your balls off. Then put all the shit back on as soon as you go outside again.

It's fun to "play" in the cold for like a week and then gtfo.
