$80k Salary in Maryland/Baltimore/D.C. area?

I've been in D.C. (Alexandria actually) for a few days and it's not too shabby to be honest. I'd move here if I was considering moving out of Sydney. One thing though... if you plan to work in the city, but live 10+ miles away, expect a sh*t load of traffic in peak hour. I just witnessed standstill traffic heading south on the I95 (I think thats it)... oh crap! Not even Sydney traffic is this bad..

I'm live in Annapolis and work in Sales. Traffic sucks but you have to know where to go and when to avoid the bad traffic areas. If I were single 80k would not support where I live. I love Annapolis and stay away from DC and Baltimore during rush areas.
