they shoudln't be driving slower than everyone else; that defeats the purpose of a car pool lane, but it's still illegal to speed in the car pool lane.

which is why i avoid it unless it's heavy traffic

cause the far left lane is the easiest to spot.. and where they're looking at the most

why is that? In Bay Area, CHP usually camp on the right shoulder. It would make their life easier catching people that is speeding closer to them than cut 5 lanes to catch someone on the fast lane.

In theory this makes sense... But it doesn't fit the stereo-typical alpha male look-what-i-can-do police officers in California.

While I was living in LA I saw some cops do some really idiotic things (IE put way more people in danger) trying to catch people. Not generalizing and I'm not cop-bashing but it does happen all_the_time.

Just my personal experience. I drive a average of 60 miles freeway daily.

I'm baffled too. Yes I understand that when there's more than 1 person in the car (some places require more than 2 people) then they can use the carpool lane. However, the purpose of that, IMO, is to reduce traffic (or to make it flow more smoothly). So when cars are going 65mph in the carpool lane it drives me crazy. I mean what's the point if everyone else is going faster than you in other lanes?? Where's the logic in that?
