17 year olds should not drive 335's

the other night i went to dave and busters with my girlfriend and my little brother. i got pretty wasted, so after my girlfriend drove my car to her house, my brother had to drive me home from her house to ours. all i was thinking was oh my god, teenagers should not drive these cars. when in populated areas, i yelled at him to drive carefully and he did, but once he was coming up my hill he floored this thing, and i tell you, he didn't know what he was doing. he even attempted to turn off the traction control which scared the shit out of me. he attempted to take some corners, but he took it so fast he nearly spun the car out... foot heavy acceleration, no idea of how to gradually accelerate. i had told him previously that if he has a hot enough date he could take my car out, but it's NEVER EVER going to happen, EVER!! (oh and in case your wondering, i'm 25, so not that much older, but makes a big difference with driving skill)

lmao I'm 17 and driven a 335 before, I can understand your frustration and there are some teenagers that really don't appreciate the value of a car (and the dangers) but for those of us that do careful driving is a priority (atleast it is for me) But on terms of experience, well I can't really make a point on that. I guess in the end its all about trust.

Hey man you brother just sucks at driving. I'm 17 and have an 08 335i and garentee u I drive as good or better than you. I learned at an airport from an English man who has been driving cars hard for 30 years. So thanks for sterotyping all young people with fast cars. Btw your drunk, passenger ass probably thought he was driving alot worse than he actually was. And if you think that I still shouldn't be driving my car, guess what? Your prejudice ass can't do a damn thing about it.

Are you REALLY bashing this guy for saying 17 year olds can't drive as well as most older individuals?

All you have to do is talk to an insurance company. Say, "ma'am, how much is it to insure my 335i at my current age of 17?" "What about when I'm 25?" And bammmmmoo, there's your answer right there. Insurance premiums don't lie, and there is a reason why.

No offense to younger drivers, as I was once 17 and dangerous. This is not me saying EVERY 17 year old is dangerous, but no one can argue against statistics.

I'm not arguing that at all. I'm "bashing" him for grouping me in with his dumbass brother. Just because I'm 17 gives you no reason to say I drive dangerously. I've seen ALOT of people 25 plus that don't need to have a liscense

Honestly, where I live, the kids are the best drivers. Maryland laws have changed so much, the older people seem to have no idea what they are doing anymore. It all depends on how the teenagers were brought up, and their sense of appropriateness. I've been driving my dad's 550 since my car's been gone, and sure, I've had some fun in it, but within reason, there's a time and a place for everything.

There are bad eggs in every batch, you seem to have gotten one OP.

I know very skilled drivers who are teenagers and I know skilled drivers who are in their 70s. I also know some really bad drivers in both of those age groups.

Statistically younger drivers have many more accidents but that is in many cases because they are more reckless not necessarily because they lack skill.

The worst drivers are drivers who think they are great drivers but have minimal ability. They are the ones who will push a car closer and closer to the limits and get away with it. Eventually they will go beyond the limits and have no idea what to do.

Why so full of hate? "Your prejudice ass can't do a damn thing about it" I'm sure he doesn't want to do anything cause you (A 17 year old BOY) have a 335. We all like the fact that you have a 335.....

All 17 year olds should just disappear!

btw, I had a 9 sec camaro that I bought for myself at 16. No tickets and no accidents. So its not the car, its the driver.

In LA, about 90% of all "drivers" have no clue of how to drive correctly.
Be it skill, respect, or courtesy...

No one should take the OP's post with a literal inclination. What he's really saying is that young people (by using his brother as an example) should not have fast, sporty cars. WHICH, statistically, younger drivers are more reckless. Stop being so defensive.

Ill rather have 17 yr old drivers than 70 yr old drivers.
But than again few days ago i was "racing" a porsche turbo in traffic and after long tries finally getting next to the Porsche i saw a 50+ year old lady driving. I felt kind dumb/embarassed at the same time so yea sex and age means shit.
