So far I like the moves Yankees have made. Still need to work on the starting pitching. As good as Machado is, I don’t want to give him a long term contract. Spring training is almost here.

Machado can stay far away from The Bronx but they need to keep Andujar. His defense can be worked on so not sure all this buzz about trading him is still going on (rumors) UNLESS we trade Andujar for either Thor or DeGrom.

Rotation is meh:

Sev: reminds me of Matt Harvey - a fake ace.
Malaka: arm is a ticking time bomb.
Paxton: IMHO still unproven and is injury prone.
Happ: penciled in as the #4 but he truly is their ace.
Big Boi: final season so I expect him to be the best # cinco in the game.

Unless they get A TRUE front line starter, they will stumble early in the postseason.

Bullpen is one of the best.

Lineup is great and would be a bonus if Tulo is 75% of what he was. Didi SHOULD be ready by Sept as he still needs to do ‘Spring Training’ to get up to speed but wouldn’t be surprised if he missed the whole season.

Sonny Gray, get yur ass Audi here! And take Elsbury too.

Bring up Chance Adams and see how he can handle 6th innings in some tight situations.

Ottavino 3yr/$27M should be penciled in as the 6th inning man. Bullpen is as deep as Waterworld.

They are asking the Farm for Kluber and the Giants are not letting Mad Bum go now, maybe by the trade deadline if they are out of the race ...

With these freezing temperatures in NYC, baseball can’t get here fast enough. I just hope it doesn’t snow on me, like it did on opening day at the stadium last year.

God I hope they overspend on Machado and he cripples the team much like ARod did. Sox will be better than them with him or not. Good move dumping Sonny Gray. How much did they pay Ellsbury again?

CSI, I don’t think Machado is coming to the Bronx. I truly hope not. When is Sandoval coming off the books? And can’t forget Ramirez.

Yankees starting pitching is maybe 4th best in the AL and because of this, unless a midsession trade for a top tier starter, they will faulter. I would be for flipping Paxton and a mid level prospect for say Mad Bum, Kluber. I just don’t trust Paxton for some reason as he could be a reincarnation of Sonny Gray/Javy Vazquez.

Again, no need for Harper/Machado and it looks like they’ll pass on them (Thank GOD).

Ells shouldn’t block Clint Frazier as I can see him being useful this season after a concussion filled 2018 season.

Overspend that’s pretty funny seeing the Sox have a 250 million dollar payroll there the ones that are crippled at the moment. I know they will still be good obviously but it’s not like they where way better then everyone else. Good luck closing out games with that so called bullpen they have!

No Kelly, who played a big part in the bullpen. Redsox didn’t improve the team, in fact a little weaker in the bullpen in my opinion. Kimbrel was a bust in the second half, and postseason. Rumor has it he’s going to Atlanta.

They started in a place where they could be opportunistic in making improvements. They don't need to be in the discussion about Harper or Machado. Contrary to previous post, they were quite a bit better than everyone else before free agency started. Won division by 8 games and lost 3 games combined throughout playoffs to some very good teams.

I'm ok with no long term commitment to either Kelly or Kimbrel. Kelly had a great playoff run but has been up and down since arriving. I liked his personality and WS performance, but someone bid more so good for him. The bullpen will work itself out over the course of the season. If they start blowing games, they will go out and get a closer or make other improvements via trade unless they are really tanking, which seems unlikely.

As far as 2019 goes, there are no guarantees. I am expecting them to win a few less games but still have an excellent team. They have more questions post-2019 with younger players coming up on free agency.

Yankees should sign Keuchel as Sev was scratched from his start today and will undergo further testing. I’m not saying Tommy John, however, this rotation is as fragile as stock N54 turbos.

Rotator cuff inflammation, therefore, expect him back in the rotation in May. 2-3 weeks of being shut down then resume throwing. Hopefully all goes well, extended spring training/minor league rehab so May should be the target.

The price for Gio Gonzalez just increased. I’m hoping Severino’s shoulder inflammation isn’t going to be a problem going forward. Opening day is around the corner. Hopefully I get good weather. Last year it snowed on me.
