Agreed. After running Brody through the ground they were able to come up with new plots that have worked out well. Looking forward to Season 6.

No doubt, really good acting although Carrie's crazy/crying face was hard to look at lol

I really like Anthony Bourdain. He has two shows that are great.
"No reservations" and
"Parts Unknown"
It combines travel, food, social studies, some politics and features amazing people and places all around the world. The best part? He does not just go to the ritzy or glamorous places, he actually prefers the the more seedy places off the beaten path. Oh and he indulges in as many alcoholic beverages as he can during the show and at times is noticeably intoxicated. I love it.

Edit: While both shows are good, "No reservations" is more authentic and less edited, censored. The best example of "Parts unknown" not being as good is the "Korea" episode. It is the only episode that I have not enjoyed. They were trying too hard with camera angles and reverse chronology. Avoid that one, the rest are great.

Wife made me marathon watch "Alaska the Last Frontier" until bedtime. I get home before her and will watch on DVR this p.m.

After reading this thread I started watching The Wire. After the first episode or two I was kinda "eh" but now I'm almost finished with season 2. Liking it so far!

I watched the first episode of X-Files in relative quiet. I'm getting so sucked in again. Not really to the details, but to the drama that is Scully and Mulder. I tried to watch the second one at my parents' but nobody could shut up and I couldn't read lips well enough. Will watch it tonight.

I gotta say, Gillian didn't age as well, maybe she needed an "obsession"?

Wow! I'm surprised Penny Dreadful hasn't made anyone's list. Fantastic show! The script, wardrobe, scenery, et al is wonderful! I highly recommend it. And, you know, Eva Green

When this first came out in 1999 everyone within my circles were raving about it. Back then I wasn't into TV shows/series so I refused to watch it. Then in fall 2013 HBO began showing all the episodes every night and I was instantly hooked. IMHO by far the best show.

Season 1 was great. It does start slow but picks up. Season 2 was awful.

just wrapped up season one, some good acting, overall the series wasn't bad. starting season 2 tonight ill give it a try
