Could be true. I worked at a restaurant and one of the female servers was terrified of pickles. If she was working the prep station other people would have to put pickles on the plates for her.

And of course, it probably didn't help much when someone smacked her in the face with a pickle...

my friend had a banana phobia. my ex, my friend and i were in a hotel once on the way to SF. my ex waited for my friend to come out of the shower when she ripped her towel off of her and started beating her up with a banana. my ex was laughing her ass off the entire time because the banana splashed all over my friend's body and she just ran into a corner, started sobbing really loud, shivering and covering up her face. it was very horrifying and definitely a beginning of the end of our relationship with my ex.

oh, those gold memories, memories...
