Thumbs down Laptop blue screens

It does it every time after a couple minutes of being on. Started out of the blue this week. I had not added any software or hardware. I ran defrag & chkdsk & did a system restore. None of it helped. What is wrong w/this thing?

I am going to assume this is a Windows machine.

What is the BSOD failure code? Write that down and look it up on the internet (on a different computer).

Unless you have developed a hardware issue, the most likely is a driver or an OS update that went wrong.

Have you tried a format and clean install?

Could be a hardware part. An easy check is to pull the memory and see if that's the issue. Maybe take a stick out, and leave another stick in. Or vice versa.

You said you've done a restore. You formatted the HD and re-installed the OS?

You've done a chkdsk /r
You've done a sys restore

Try from DOS "sfc /scannow'

Run a hardware check(from boot). Most vendors have this built in. Might be F10 or something

Next I would say check memory... If you have two modules remove 1, then boot. Next time around if its still happening remove the other then boot.

If the the previous 2 didnt work... format and reinstall OS

If that doesnt work its probably your HD or motherboard(but you many know that from writing down the error and searching like Shipkiller said)

Is iirq not equal error?
Most of the time its ram that goes bad and causes the problem of bsod once the PC heats up

I would try to do a clean install of windows that should solve your issue, if not then it's most likely a hardware issue. I had the same problem with BSOD coming on randomly it turned out that my hard disk was on its way out.
