When you pay people high wages like Costco at these economic times, a store won't survive.

Now, just let us have the friggin' samples...
Costcos here are busy as ever.

Much better Customer Service, they carry better products, great return policy, friendly people, etc..

Walmart is disorganized, full of screaming/crying kids and a bunch of other unsavory people.

+1. just because you go during a single slow day doesnt mean that the entire corporation is just going to collapse. i usually have to wait a good 10 minutes in line when i go.

not true.
costco has buyers that attend food trade shows for many different areas of each store. bakery for one.
if you already have an exsisting customer base all over the U.S., adding costco will only screw it up for all those companies.
i own a company with 20 employees shipping our petits fours all over the country and can tell you costco is not always good for local stores.
i bet the lot is packed right now at your local Costco

Costco, like Walmart, puts the small guys out of business.

I should stop spending so much money there.

I had no idea Costco was outside of CA. Thought it was like In-n-out. I know the grandson of the guy who founded Costco though. Loaded family of course. They live like a mile away.
