I hate email spam but this made me laugh

Normally I don't even get past the email subject line when it comes to spam before I delete it...but this email honestly made me laugh. They're going for TWO phishing attempts within the same email:

We use this opportunity to confirm from you if really you have sent your Doctor as a representative. However, we received an email from one Dr. Verani Bekti yesterday who told us that she is your private Doctor and next of kin and that you died recently. Her contact details: Address: 110 Interglen Avenue, River Vale, New Jersey 07675. Beneficiary: Dr Verani Bekti. But from our finding we could not find any death record of you.
Please confirm to us immediately that you are alive.

Note that we are bound to recognize Dr. Verani Bekti's claim if you fail to promptly respond.
We decided to write to your email and if there is no reply of this message from you within 48 hrs it will be assumed that her information is correct then we shall work with your representative and do what she has requested.

I've been getting hammered with text messages from Nancy Pelosi herself. Who knew she respected me enough to ask for my opinion and support? I'm flattered.

We used to get calls all the time from the "Microsoft Support" people about the problem with our windows systems. My wife and I would often keep these people on the phone for 20-30 minutes frustrating them with out incompetence to help them hack our computers. We don't own a single windows computer so I'd eventually tell them that I knew they were trying to do something evil. It's always some poor guy just trying to make some money for his family that's employed by evil people. I actually had one guy offering me a teary apology with a promise that he was going to quit that scam and go home and get a real job.

That was likely intended. The scammers know intelligent people generally aren't going to fall for these scams, so by making huge mistakes like that, they weed out skeptical people. They are specifically looking for elderly people that would be more susceptible to these types of scam.

Also aren't these "old people" they are targeting dying off? I mean they have been doing this basically since I have been on the internet for what like 20 years?? Aren't the newer generation of old people more savvy about this stuff? I mean I could see my grandmother falling for this, but not my mother. Or is it that your cognitive ability to judge this stuff goes down with age??
