I have an affinity for AR pistols. I think everybody should own at least one…….or five.

Hm, its less a specific weapon its more the ability to just walk into a store and buy any if I want.
I would love to have e.g. a G36K or a SIG552 but when I take a look into my cabinet there are already enough stuff to enjoy at the range so its more "please my desire" buy, so to speak.
Very restricted weapon laws have their cons - but also their pros.

Got it! Some states in the union are more free than others. There are a lot of firearms a civilian in California cannot own, but are accessible to patriots in neighboring states. I can buy off-roster firearms as long as I'm an active LEO. At retirement I will lose that ability and be subjected to the same purchase restrictions as a civilian (…unless I pay 3x the price on CalGuns).

What happens to the existing off roster guns you previously purchased while an active Leo before you retire? Grandfathered?

Can you sell at 3x the price on calguns? If so buy a bunch and profit!

If not but are grandfathered and you can still shoot them use that as a recruiting tool to get people to join.

Yep, all purchases are grandfathered in. I could sell if I wanted to, but I likely wouldn't. I don't buy firearms to flip and make money. I could get into trouble for doing that anyway. After so many sales of off-roster weapons the DOJ starts sending warning letters.

Haha! That GIF is funny.

Red flag laws have good intentions but will arguably, almost certainly, be abused. People's lives will be ruined over this.

100%. Someone red flags me, I get everything taken away until I eventually get my day in court. And that is not a quick process. Nor is it guaranteed that I get them back. Its crazy because it could be someone who just hates me and decided to make my life miserable. No consequences to them, and they probably are even anonymous.

Mixed feelings about red flag laws. Properly defined and executed could help stop nut jobs. But that would mean you get your hearing within days and there has to be some evidence that you are a threat not an anonymous tip.

Sadly I do not trust the government to implement any red flag laws in such a way that protects the innocent from harassment.

I just dont see them working out like they think they will.

Lets use the Uvalde shooter as an example. Kid obviously was troubled and showed a history of violence/mental issues. however, through his parents, grandparents and teachers, was given passes for it with excuses of "he was bullied" or "his home life wasnt great" etc, etc. If theres one thing we have shown as a society, its a willingness to ignore all the red flags of kids/young adults until its too late. I cant remember the last time we had a school or public place mass shooters where everyone was like "i could have never seen this coming. they were always the model citizen"

Here’s my SCAR 17 as promised. I’ve simply added a post and a Romeo 5 for now while I decide on optics. I also have a suppressor which fits perfectly, but the length is almost comical.

The low weight of this thing is simply amazing for a full sized .308 rifle. I have AR pistols which weigh more. Wow.

I'd swap out that A2 pistol grip as well, can't stand them. Other than that it's perfect

I typically throw the Magpul K grip on my rifles. They are more vertical than your standard AR pistol grip and feel better to hold in my opinion. Easier to get a higher hold on the grip.

I use the post as a hand stop and not a grip. C grip with the post as a stop. Thanks though!

I am a Vietnam veteran and I find no humor in that GIF.

Meh. Just noticed I didn’t have a .380 but have plenty of .380 ammo (I gave my only .380 away to my sister-in-law as a wedding present years ago).

So I should probably do the smart thing and sell the ammo and move on. (They divorced so she’s not getting any ammo from me).

Nope. I’m stupid. I just emailed Glock with my order for a Glock 42. Let’s see how long direct sales take.

Local LE dealer said he’s backordered on the 42.
