Average BMW owner
What does an average BMW owner look like?
ex : Type of hobbies? Work a 9-5? Introvert/extrovert? Stand 6'10 tall? Single or married? Fashion style? |

The picture pretty much sums it up, but really I do not believe there is a "typical" BMW owner. They make so many different vehicles across a broad price range.

Haha true. Curious to know who they are though (if they're on the forums). Can maybe find some commonalities

This is the strangest question I've read in a long time.

I’d be interested to see though if others will list what they do. Marital status: Married, prior to bmws no kids, now 1 Height: 6’ Age: 43, first bmw at 31 Current bmw/s: e85,e86,e82 Hobbies: living history reenactment, camping, hiking, backpacking, gardening, various sword play, shooting sports(archery, skeet, pistol, rifle, flintlocks), musician (bass, bodhran, bombard, bagpipes both highland and uilleann, piano) poetry, recreational motor sports/autox/OTD Type of work: 2p-10p Machinist Fashion: anything from sweats, to kilt if I feel like dressing fancy like, but most important practical and comfy. Beard is anywhere from trimmed to gruff but never clean shaven, I’d have to shave 2 times a day for that. Not to mention the Mrs. hates it if I were clean shaven so major bonus for me there haven’t been clean shaven since I was 14 |

The "average" BMW owner . . . is not on this list!

I have an average BMW stereotype in my head, and I don't fit it. I'm more like the average Japanese sports car fan that recognized that the OG F87 M2 is the best thing going at this time, all things considered.

I'm in a BMW because I got to a point in life where I could get whatever I wanted and looked at everything in the price band I set for myself. Made a list of must haves, and strong wants, and other important factors. This coupled with a particular quality and value expectation. After a long process of elimination, I landed on BMW. After living with my choice for a while I feel I got exactly what I was after. |

The average bmw owner I agree isn’t here. But some of the average bmw enthusiasts are. The one go to service guy I see at the dealer by me when I have to go in even for just picking up parts, got to know him well and he even says the average customer now these days only care about the roundel and social status not caring if it’s the ultimate driving machine or not. I kind of look for those "overall the best for the money" type of cars. My '05 STi was easily the best overall car I've ever had (in a long list of JDM cars), and I thought nothing could knock it off its perch. I was wrong. The OG M2 is even better, and that's saying something. |

My previous daily driver (non BMW) was a series of similar compromises, but with a much smaller budget. |

There is no typical type these days. BMW went from making the 'Ultimate Driving Machine' to making 'Cars for the People, Soccer Moms and Millennials'. The once pompous BMW owner stereotype is now likely diffused by all of the masses who are buying them.

When I'm not going to work, I wear surfing and outdoor branded clothes along with old tshirts and jeans, so I probably don't fit whatever the stereotype is -- a bunch of uppity people who don't use turn signals?.
