Hangover cures/prevention

Alright i had way too much to drink last night and im really fuckin hungover....so lets hear some hangover cures.........all i ever do is just drink a lot of water but i know theres a lot of tricks out there....so lets hear em..

if there is good mexican restraunt near by go get some menudo... the grease content (lines the stomach lining)and sponge of the "meat"(absorb water and alchol) are what liquered up mexicans have been eating for decades.

I always just pop 2 asprin before I passout if i can remember to do that and drink a glass of water before I passout and a lot right away in the morning. Its kinda hard to do that if you have had too much to think about that before you passout though.

Good luck with the hangover anyway.

it's belief that ginseng is a good remedy while drinking. recommend going to an asian market and purchasing ginseng gum while going out clubing next time.

A "hang over" is actually a result of short term alcohol withdrawal symptoms.....so believe it or not, and as disgusting as it may sound while your hung over.....but a small glass of an alcoholic beverage does in fact help tame a hang over.

this is why i dont drink and prefer smoking instead........

One of the biggest causes of a hangover is the actual physical withdraw from alcohol after the binge. So to actually cure a hangover you'd want to drink a bloody mary or a screwdriver, or a few beers with some vitamins.

The second thing is dehydration so you certainly need to drink tons of water, preferably the night while you're drinking.

The only thing that I've found that actually will "pull you out" of a hangover is heavy physical activity (combined with rehydration so you don't die). Drink water the night before. Drink some water in the morning. Then go run about 3 miles or hike about 10 that morning. Drink some more water and you'll just feel tired but no hangover. It's like the endorphines override the hangover like atropine kills the chemical bonds from nerve agents.

As a side note: Don't fall asleep on a helicopter with a hangover. When you wake up you'll be so disoriented because you've been moving up/down/sideways and rotating while changing altitude that you'll want to puke even though you've never experienced motion sickness in your life. Even on rough seas ships seem to be okay but not helos.

1 cold beer the morning of the hangover works perfect! Before you all start to bash me,try it(and i mean only one beer btw),and it should be super cold,has you feeling normal again in no time,Always works for me,heck,i was wasted last night,took a cold one this morning,and i'm good as gold!

LOL this thread is right up my alley...here we go, i'm pro at this....


1. Aight, when you drink, try to eat also, food helps to absorb the alcohol....chips and pretzels are great....


2. Move around when u drink, if you sit in one spot the whole time and u drink, u gon get fucked up and have a shitty day next day. Be as active as possible while maintaining orderly conduct.

3. Try not to mix drinks, like beer then liquor then beer etc...drink one type of liquor, like dark or clear.

4. Chug a 32 oz bottle of gatorade before you go to sleep, chug another one when you wake up. Eat something with broth or soup like meal. If you sleep at least an hour for every drink you take, you shouldn't be too bad the next day.


not sure it's wise to take aspirin while intoxicated...but dont quote me, i never done it

last night i drank 16 beers and took 4 shots during a beer pong tournament...slept 3 hours and been at work all day...

Sounds nasty but milk works for me. Just have a glass or two right before you go to sleep and it seems to help.

Pedialight also works pretty well.

If you dont make it before you fall asleep, go get yourself some Pho and take a nap.

A real life saver in a pinch (if you really need to function) is 2 to 3 L of intravenous fluids...and 8 mg of Zofran

Well IV is a cheater solution and not everyone has access, but it does work.

If you know an EMT buddy or a CLS if you're in the Army then tell him to hook you up with a bag (or couple if you're really dehydrated) of saline (dont take anything else, especially lactated ringers). Dont do it while youre drunk, or worse your buddy is drunk and trying to stick you!

That's what I usually do. Hangover = dehydration, so drinking liquids is helpful.

Match each beer with a glass of water and you will be fine.. I usually drink 3 beers in a row then get a glass of water with the 4th beer and each subsequent beers, then when I go home I drink 3 glasses of either water or OJ and take a aspirin.

i do have to agree with the physical activity one, ive worked out a few times when i was really hung over and it seemd to work pretty damn well........i was drenched with sweat by the time i was done but felt great afterwards..... also if i take 3 advil before bed and 3 when i wake up that helps too....there are some good cure in this thread im gonna have to save it....

How can you drink more alcohol without puking? I am wondering if it's possible, every time I get really shit faced, I have a hard time smelling alcohol the next day.

I heard that aloe vera juice also helps (don't know about curing) hangovers. You get the cans at any Asian grocery store, they are expensive though.
