2008 535xi idle, starting issue
Good afternoon, had my 08' 535xi for almost 2 years never had and issue with it. It all started while driving on freeway car went into what I assume was limp mode, car was in yet no power in acceleration, immediately got the AWD- DSC warnings on. Got off the freeway stopped at gas station turned car off and couldn't get it back on. It would turn over but not start. Took it to the shop have had crank shaft sensor replaced changed negative cable on battery thinking it could be an electrical problem. After a while got it to start but it would idle like crazy. Computer gave me two codes 2CFE and 2D09 related to throttle body, got that replaced abs still keeps on idling. Takes me while to start it yet after it does it just idles even on drive or reverse gears. Now it's giving me 2DEB,3100, 2ACB codes as well. Anyone has had this issue and has resolved it ?

If the voltages are fine, then I would check the fuses both in the car and the e-box. |

I recommend downloading it and it will guide you through the fault isolation process to include the wires to shoot.
The only thing you have to purchase is a cable. Just search the forums. There are tons of ways to download it. However, if I understand your original post, those first two codes are still present, correct? Have you tried clearing the codes to see if the last three go away? They sound like transitory faults after a power removal. If the first two codes relating to the throttle valve are still present, I recommend checking the connections between the throttle valve and the DME for continuity. This is a common problem with N5x engines that the connection goes bad. |

What typically causes that fault is having to recalibrate the steering angle sensor. That happens every time you disconnect the battery. If that doesn't clear it, you can also calibrate it through ISTA.
