caliper ceramic coat

i see lots of wheel ceramic coats on the market but can't seem to find a caliper ceramic coat. i noticed some vendors using wheel ceramic on calipers but how does that work with the heat cycles a caliper goes thru?

I'm not sure it makes much difference unless you are tracking the car and getting the calipers hot enough that the paint is changing color. There is no legitimate data out there, but my spray sealants hold up for a few weeks between washes on the caliper so I doubt the heat is a big deal for the resins. Maybe it does shorten lifetime, but who knows. I think people coat the caliper just because when you have the wheels off and you've cracked open a bottle of coating then why not, even if it didn't last that long. Most of the wheel coatings are really the same as the paint coatings but higher solids versions, but it has more to do with chemical resistance and ease of cleaning than temperature.

Ceramic coating is for non-tracked calipers, and in that capacity almost all of them will serve you well. There is no ceramic coat that will stand up to tracked calipers. In fact, there are very few paints/powder coats what will not degrade over time when tracked.

I've got Gyeon Rim on my calipers.

From the Gyeon website....

Q² Rim has an endurance capability exceeding 800ºC without any damage to its original properties.

I have these lingering doubts they actually test up to 800 C. The paint won't survive 800 C. Most caliper paint is rated for < 500 C.

Beyond that the heat comes from the inside, not the outside, so as the caliper paint/coating itself breaks down it's going to cause the ceramic coating to break down along with it.

Gyeon RIMS, I even use it on my gloss black exhaust tips because of it's high temp rating

In 2020, a detailer put GTechniq Crystal Serum Ultra on a set of new calipers I bought. The finish has held up well, and the calipers still look like new.

Use a normal wheel ceramic coating, it will work just as well. If it's hot enough to break down the ceramic coating it will be hot enough to break down caliper paint too.
