Most of my recurring nightmares involve low-flying helicopters that shatter blades and send me running for cover to avoid the shrapnel. I have never flown in a helicopter, or served in the military. I did witness one crash into a farm field when I was in 1st grade though, but it was over a mile away and I was not brought to the crash scene once I finally convinced the adults that I saw the crash. It didn't lose any rotor blade pieces, and I do not think that it is related to the recurring nightmares.....

Yeah, I think they have something to do with anxiety/stress in your life.

Weird dreams

About once a year I dream that I was drafted again. In the dream I'm oddly aware that I had been drafted in 1967 and this second-go-around was grossly unfair and I was pissed off. Then I wake up in a sweat... and relieved.

I turned 18 when the draft ended. 1973.

When I was a child I had reoccurring nightmares/dreams about a shadowy figure with a top hat and beard. I was probably 5-7yrs old.

When I'd see the shadow I would wake up crying.

Later in high school I remember learning about Abraham Lincoln and found out that I was born on the same day as he died.

Coincidence?

So you're a vampire? Born in 1865?

Dreams are crazy, I was discussing dreams with a mechanical engineer that works for me this afternoon. We figured out that we both are designing crazing things in our dreams, going through design reviews, working with current people and people from the past.

Best part, the shit we dreamed up in our dreams, doesn’t make sense and we got a great laugh out of it. Just some bonding!

He discussed how he has a cough and was designing some crazy right angle cigar in his dream.

Last night I had a dream that I was unaware I was in one of those prank shows. I was being attacked by a zombie, but when I realized it wasn't real I then became an actor and was the fake zombie. Not sure what that's supposed to mean, but it was entertaining.

It's not often that I remember dreams, but with the exception above when I do remember dreams I usually dream about things like military battles or trying to escape captivity, or being unable to do something. If I struggle to fall asleep my dreams are usually in hyper-speed mode and I cant slow anything down.

Military/captivity dreams usually start with military missions and end up with me being the one trying to get others to safety without being caught. I've dreamed where I've been shot, sometimes multiple times and I can feel everything as if it were real. Probably has a lot to do with my military background.

The dreams about no being able to do something is usually not being able to run, sometimes I'm stuck in the air and can't get to the ground, or I'm trying to protect myself and no matter how hard I hit it's never hard.

When I was younger I had the same dream multiple times. In my dream my dad was a police officer and he was crouched down behind a car during a gunfight, and I yelled at him "NO! That's the bomb car!". Then the car explodes from a grenade underneath it and then I just remember my dad looking at me screaming with a bloody face. I had that dream multiple times when I was probably 8-10 years old?

I'm usually aware that I'm dreaming though, and I'll consciously change things I don't like. There have been multiple times I've changed a vehicle or something like that, or where I've decided I don't like where this is going and I should wake up.

Believe it or not I was going to put up a thread on dreams and wtwo3 must have read my mind!
Craziest ''dream'' I had was way back on holiday sleeping in hotel room in seaside resort of Viareggio, Italy.
I awakened very early because of something..a change in air pressure I don't know and I opened my eyes to see a Cavalier, like one from the laughing Cavalier standing in middle of bedroom to which I covered my head with the blanket and laid there until my uncle on the other side of bedroom awoke and I told him what happened. He said to forget about it and I just put it down that the place may have been haunted. It didn't happen again.

Took some Nyquil last night to try to get ahold of a possible cold and had some crazy dreams about racing from my old job to my current job. If I didnt get there by a certain time I wouldnt get the job, but I was going so fast I missed the exit and had to pay a toll but when I slowed for the toll I was driving in a Mario Kart

Dream

Honestly haven't had too many dreams recently. Not sure if I have just been sleeping that soundly, or if I forget them all

Just to be sure, I live in SoCal

Last night, I was in a 4x4 truck with some meaty tires, cruising thru ice/snow. Then I flashed to being in a garage with my dad, but I couldn't go out on the ice contraption because I didn't have a jacket. I got left behind, so took to break the ice from around the foundation of the pillar holding the garage up. Then I played street hockey with 2 sticks, beating this square block of ice around the driveway, which was incidentally surrounded by 10' walls of snow/ice. The walls helped with my lame-ass stick control of the block. Then I woke up.

Not to sound crazy but have any of you checked your background EMF radiation? I found mine was at dangerous levels from an outlet right next to my side of the bed. Your goal should be <0.5 and it was in the 70s and right where my pillow is ta boot. Came down to a improperly grounded appliance in the house, after fixing I'm below 0.5. I feel like I'm getting much fewer headaches since the repair but that could be a placebo effect.

Of course no one truly knows about whether all of these signals we are getting slammed non-stop daily will actually cause problems. Just wanted to share my thoughts and experiences.

Had a weird one where my older sister & I were rock-climbing/racing while wearing snow gloves. I can remember in the dream panning out into the 3rd person, and there's like a 1,000' drop below me but to my left about 50yrds away is a normal suburban looking street.

Been having some odd ones lately

I'm looking at your garage and you've gone from the epic E39 M5 to a 335i to a 428i.

8 to 6 to 4 cylinders while doubling the fuel efficiency and maintaining about the same 0-60 times. That's a dream right there!
