Unseasonably warm this year, the farmers almanac was not even close. Only cold bout we have had was last week when the whole country was gripped with -25 F for two days then it rebounded into the high 40's
I have not plowed or blown snow at all this year. I did shovel a 3" storm and wished I had mounted my plow on my tractor but I was procrastinating. I happened to notice yesterday that i need new hydraulic lines for it and thinking I should do the same for the two stage snow blower as well. |

While 28 is also our normal average low for this week of the year, the predicted lows for the week are all over the map, ranging from 54 Wed/Thurs night to 22 Fri/Sat night. Having aged-out of Northern New England and its colder, snowier, and, especially, longer winters, we're finding the current variability of winter lows and highs to be a distinct plus for us. I'll qualify this by noting that we're now in a condo and no longer have outdoor plants to sustain through all conditions nor pets that must have access to the outdoors. In Western Mass, that must constitute some sort of record. Seriously, it must.

Sunny and near 60F today. Little bit of wind, but not too bad. Nice long bike ride in store for this afternoon.

It's 71° now with a strong, steady wind and some stronger gusts.
The power can go out when winds are like today's; hopefully, we won't have that happen this time.

Isn't Chicago the windy city?
We aren't supposed to see snow up here for another week at least. Just rainy and miserable. |

F winter. I can't stand snow. None of the roads were plowed. I mean, where is our tax money going? I literally saw like 3 snow plows just chilling on the side of the road? I mean, wtf man

Pretty much sums up this morning....
90% of the roads were heavily salted but the car took a good 5 minutes to scrape. The frameless windows made things more fun. |
