Hhhmmm, performance numbers yet to come from a tuned and/or modded C8, or C8Z. The mind boggles.

Not much modding for the new c8/c8z. Unless you are adding turbos/supercharger or cracking the engine open. Can t just tune it and gain 150/150 like the Turbo cars

And that's comparing to GM's entry level corvette. Not even talking about the other variants coming.

Because the z06 was never intended for cars and coffee and roll racing. It was intended to be GM's flagship TRACK CAR. They fucked up big time with the C7Z because it has inadequate efficiency on the track. Trust me i know. If my car can get a bit hot in street driving, the car would definitely overheat with 2-3 laps at a local track. Poor corvette guys had to default to a less powerful grand sport for their track needs. And ZR1 guys just show off their masterpiece at cars and coffee.

I'm glad this LT6 seems to be unmoddable. Let the owners enjoy and appreciate the masterpiece the GM engineers made.

A stock C8Z, by the time it reaches the hands of the owners, will probably get walked by a handful of cars in a roll race. Especially the factory freak turbo cars, or cars that are FI. The great thing about the C7Z was that you can improve it easily with a procharger, even with the stock cooling system. The stock blower on these cars is basically a block of solid lava. Makes everything fucking hot real quick. Stock fuel is good for 700rwhp easily. Will hurt lots of expensive cars out there.

I'm curious to see what the C8Z is like. It supposedly traps 131 which is quicker than the C7Z but no more room for improvement it seems.

Hard to boost an engine that has such insanely great efficiency of moving air. It's basically boosted but NA at the same time.

I agree. A lot of owners will just assume they are the baddest thing on the road and get stomped real quick. Like the charger/Mustang owners🤣🤣. If I get my Z06 it will be lowered on some sick wheels and en Exhaust. Call it a day.

No troll, I simply stated my car was faster. I didn't say modded or not, just that the Vette lost badly. My car is a 4 door GT. It's not supposed to beat a Vette and it shouldn't. I'm 4500 lbs with a full tank, he's 3700 ish. Chevrolet can do better and it will next year with the Z06.

That's probably what i'm going to do when i get my z06. Even though the stock wheels do look good, the offsets GM put are always trash. So aftermarket wheels are a must, then a drop and a nice screaming exhaust so the car can finally sing like a supercar.

Although the thought of getting a stingray right now is definitely tempting. I love my C7Z but i'm tired of rowing gears. I can always twin turbo the C8 stingray and destroy almost everything out there anyway lol

Meh. Twin turbo big horsepower RWD is ancient history. Even mid engine will have zero traction. Hopefully the Zr-1 will be AWD. That would change the game. Not sure American muscle will ever wake up and do that.

I heard the car is quiet. It is so quiet, in fact, that I had to turn off the music to hear the engine. And when you do hear the engine, it is fantastic.

and given the price difference you'd be better comparing your '6' to the soon to be released ZO6, to which you would do nothing but look at Chevy Tailights !!!

Happy Dyngus Day to all !

The M6 loses at 0 - 60 and the 1/4 mile. It loses by 20 feet in braking from 70 - 0, and on the skid pad. And the M6 costs almost double what the C8 does. And again, you have no idea what the Vette was doing when you thought you beat him. Oh, and you stated you are tuned.

I get it, , but Dude it's not "your" modded M6 against the entire line of the C8; its the BMW's spec M6 against GM's spec C8. Yup, the big, fat, heavy M6 can sorta hang with the mid-engine C8, but it has 65HP on the 'Vette and $50K more price, so it should be sorta close. But track both, I'd bet the C8, would easily win the contest. The C8 laps VIR at 2:49 the M5 CS is 2:50.3. Data.

Enjoy your Monday.
Using the data you supplied stock for stock, in a roll race from 60 to 130, the M6 wins big.

Doing the math from the data you provided, the M6 goes from 60 to 130 in 9.3 seconds. That's taking the 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds and subtracting it from the 0-130 time of 13.0 seconds.

The C8 goes from 60 to 130 in 10.4 seconds. That's taking the 2.8 second 0-60 time and subtracting it from the 13.2 second 0-130 time.

That is a difference in 1.1 seconds in their 60-130 times. At 130 mph, that translates to 190.667 feet per second. With a 1.1 time difference between the cars, that equals 209 feet (almost 70 yards)difference between the cars. Since the speed for both cars is increasing, even half of that distance of 35 yards is right at 7 car lengths.

That's your data, not mine. And since my car is modded, it was a blood bath. I'm not saying Vettes are trash, I'm in awe of the ZR1. But the C8 leaves a lot on the table.

If what you are worried about is the roll race, you really don't understand this car.

Your original statement said M6 smoke C8 in a "roll race" without any accompanying information. Believe the science.
My original statement was "My M6". Don't misquote me. My best friend has a 2021 C8 Z51 3LT. The C8 is better at lower speeds, the M6 is better at higher speeds. C8 destroys it in handling. But when it comes to roll racings, it's not very close, especially if you let it go to higher speeds. I won't go jumping on a ZR1 anytime soon, but I'd be in his mirror.

The fastest thing on the street is going to be EVs. Its kinda hilarious how easy it is to make a ev that does 4s 0-60 for even a mainstream non performance car. A lot of egos are going to get bruised.
