Battery Issues

Hi All,

My 2006 E60 525i has been sitting for a few weeks while I have been replacing multiple coolant hoses. The battery is dead and will not start even when jumped from the terminals under the hood. I tried taking the battery out to slow charge it with a battery tender but again when I reinstalled the battery the car would not start even when jumped. I might need a new battery but had a question about a loose cable I noticed when reinstalling the battery. I just want to make sure it wasn't supposed to go somewhere and I definitely don't remember deliberately unhooking a cable when I removed the battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The loose cable is red/blue in the pics, and doesn't appear to connect to anything within reach

Not sure about the cable but don't forget to register your new battery.

Having the same issue with my 530i. I also have the same wire that isn’t connected to anything. Would like to know if u get an answer to this.
