Who is thinking of or planning on moving from M to 992 911?

Anyone? The 992 is releasing in summer 2019.

Let's hear

Not that I was ever considering moving to one, but the 992 rear end is hideous. Huge step back from 991.

911s may drive better than anything, but aside from a GT3, they are so bland. I guess I'll just never understand the appeal of the 911.

But if I ever get the opportunity to own a 991 gen GT3, i don't think I'll ever let it go.

I wasn't a huge fan of the 991 rear end either, but the 992 is bad. Porsche isn't everyones cup of tea. For others, there is something so organic about the shape, and the fact that Porsche has stuck with the rear engine layout for over 50 years. The new ones have sublime performance and handling. I'm not a fan of the Cayenne and Macan as I think that was a departure from what Porsche was all about. In my books they are a sports car company first and always. The SUV's were a business decision as I understand it and I guess if that allowed them to keep making sports cars then that's ok. Very few other car makers can claim the sporting DNA that Porsche can. They also make a car with near supercar numbers that are almost affordable, at least compared to supercars. Just my two cents.

The new 992 price increases are getting too much for me. I built a 992 S for almost $150k. Then again the new M3/M4 are supposed to up in price as well.

The thing with Porsche is you can often pick up a really nice used model that fits your bill for a price significantly lower than buying new. And if you hold onto it for a while it may well go up in value.

I like the back, at least the full width tails. Don't like all the plastic trim, but the various GTS and GT3 models will quickly fix that. This is going to be sinister.

Not likely to go up, unless it's a GT car, but the values do hold well with just some depreciation for mileage mostly. I bought my '13C2S that had an MSRP of $129k for $75k CPO two years ago, now cars with similar miles and age are still going for about the same price. I bought an extended warranty when my CPO ran out in October and will just hold on to mine for another 3 years. I don't get the "bland" comment, this is by far the best car I've had and I've owned many Audis, BMWs including an M3.

Me. But i’m not doing anything until i see the 992 GT3.

I also don’t know if i would ‘move on’ to a 992 necessarily. Could keep the M if it behaves (doesn’t start breaking down)

Wish I could but too expensive for me. I will def give a preowned 991.2 a hard look though when I get rid of the M.

I love the front-end but the rear is

However, most reviews have been overwhelmingly positive on the drive and that's what the 911 is all about.

Hoping they find some way to improve the look of the rear or that it at least looks better on the GT cars once they add aero.

Already have a 992.2 (yes, .2) GT3 locked down if I decide to pull the trigger in 2024

Had a lot of 911's early on and that car is probably in my past-although I did love 'em all. Pretty happy where I'm at in my old age.

Yeps, i’m betting that the typical whale tail and more aggressive rear bumper will fix all that

They're just too gotdamn expensive. My plan is to keep the M4 for as long as it will hold together (it just does everything so damned well), and if a switch is ever needed look into a C7 Z06.

Def not bland. Sexy and one of the best rears without question and the 992 is even better!

They also hold value quite well and even more so with GT models.

I have already informed my wife that my M4 is going to magically turn into a 911 one day and that the 911 might magically turn into a McLaren eventually.

I am a good 4-6 years out from any serious consideration though. And honestly my next move will probably be to add a truck (back) into the mix so I'm not DDing my toys forever.

most likely GT3.
i see the pattern with most car enthusiasts starting back from 2000's (or something like that)
begin with some sort of Honda and then BMW M and eventually to Porsche....

turbos are fine for DD and everyday cars, i love my f80 and its big torque curve, but when im carving up a nice road i'd rather have a high rpm NA motor.

debating on trading my 458 for a 991.2 gt3 or waiting to see what they do with the 992 gt3

Keep your 458. Those are going to age very well. As much as I love the 991.2 GT3 I don't think it's worth getting rid of the 458.

The proper solution is getting your hands on both.

Curious which 991 you drove? The GTS, GT3 and even the T are all rock solid. The rest are pretty mundane IMO.

But haven't you heard? The 911 is now a Panamera coupe and the Cayman is the new 911.

You should give the GT4 a shot.

I like the look of them especially with the Sport Design package. Would compliment my Cayenne GTS rather nicely.

Curious what the next gen m4 will look like also.
