2021 540i Apple Car Play Issue

Everytime I leave the car and come back to drive again I have to restart I drive 1 sometimes 2 times for it to connect to Apple car play on my phone. I can try to connect it without restarting I drive but it won’t work.

Coming from a Genesis with wired CarPlay that worked perfectly this is extremely frustrating.

Anyone else having this issue, suggestions?

mine connects wirelessly and fast. no issues. I paired it once and that was it. I have a 2018 pre-LCI M550i. Check and see if the phone is connected to something else bluetooth. also when it doesn't connect are you restarting the phone? have a friend with an iPhone to see if its the car or the phone?
