have driven many BMW's for quite a few years in areas heavily populated BMW's.... can't say that I've seen much of the brotherhood....

BMWs are nice cars... but....

its def. not the end all of automobiles

It's a known fact that alcool makes the real you come out...

It's sad to see someone say/write things like that when totally sober

Its only cars, transportations, metal and plastic, # 1 reason for ozone layer destruction, if you need penis extension, please go get it, it much cheaper than a new BMW...

I understand you put "Fanboy" in the title but that just makes you part of the "whytheoutsideworlddetestsBMWowners" club.

Your talk about other cars makes you sound elitist, and it makes me embarassed to own a BMW with people like you out there.

I have both a BMW and an Audi. Your assumption that all Audi owners are not enthusiasts by one encounter is assinine. Ive gotten negative comments on my M3 by other M3 owners, wtf? I get love from the Audi community and VW community.

I love all cars because Im a "total" enthusiast. If I meet someone and they love their Scion TC and they know all about it from top to bottom and have modified it in a respectable way, I applaud them. You cant expect everyone to be able to afford only BMW out there. Its about the entire community.

If you cant be a part of the solution, youre just a part of the problem.

Why dont you and your other "fanboy" buddies make your own forum. This attitude isnt wanted here.

The only car I have ever owned that actually showed signs of brotherhood in a fun and humorous way has been my old Mini Cooper. When I'd pass a Mini, you'd almost 4 out of 5 times get a honk or flashing of lights. Thats about where it ended...

I get more comments from older people driving Lincoln Town Cars than I do other BMW owners. Which by the way, I must say, Older folk Rock...

When I got my first car, a new 1973 Capri, there was also a sort of brotherhood with fellow owners. We would either flash our lights or honk our horns (which to activate you had to push in the turn signal stalk) when we saw each other on the road.

I think it's hilarious that you base your happiness on nice cars (scratch that-one make only) and triple figure salaries.
Boy you got a lot of learning to do and with this attitude you'll get in trouble from time to time.

Now I see where you're coming from. Unforunately, there's always a few that cast a dim light on the rest.

There are many "BMW jerks" out their but i tend to notice them more in the ghetto cities. Most 323i's and 325i's. And few 330i's. I started by owning a 325i e46. Now my whole family owns BMW. My mom 2002 X5, my sister 2007 X5, i had my 325i, and now e92 335i. I have had my share of embarrasments when 330i owners wanted to race me, coupe of sedan. As slow as my car was, i would just keep going, because i didn't want to race. I knew my car was a bit slow but i loved it! WHen i finally got my 335i, i'm still the same, only now i respect the other bmw more. Most don't want to try to race me. LOL when i drive by young people or early 30s with 323's or 328i (prior models) they rev up and look at my car and just roll and keep a 30mph limit. Mind you i don't tend to race or make them feel any less for having any model that they have.

Reason for me responding to this thread, just yesterday i was driving home from work, and i saw a mystic blue e46 sedan trying to get into the road from the middle of the street. Nobody was letting her by and would speed up to not let her on the road, even though there was NO traffic. I was a bit far, and their were 2 cars behind me, and i started to slow down and high beemed here 2 times to go... As i got closer she saw this and proceeded and then waved thanks to me when i got next to her. That was cool.

Now i'm the type of person that tend to do this alot. If have stopped quite a few times when i see car stopped and elders in trouble. IN the cold, night, and twice in the rain when i had to help older asian family get their car to a save location. I feel my parents are older and would hope if their in trouble someone would help. But their is the cocky bmw owners who i treat the same, i drive normal, but i tend to let bmw's get in my lane and stuff...

I still have a 73 Capri tucked away ... amongst others.

I have also digitally re-created the Mk1 Capri in my 3D program - added some outlandishly large rims to the RS3100 version (Not available in the US). That should stir some memories

The only thing I have tucked away from that car is the original brochure and a pic of me with it from 1976: No disco comments please!

Very 70s.

Pity they had to make those cumbersome bumpers for the US. I would imagine that was a compact Coupe for the time in the US ?

RE: BBS Rims, I made a tutorial about that - have a look.

even by request, you shouldn't get off that easy.. Atleast you posted a 70's pic and not an 80's pic.

Time to turn the thread a new direction. How about more pics form the 70's?
