Hello, so I'm searching for the perfect all around camera, one that I can shoot pictures of cars with, as well as vlog (intent to make an automotive YouTube channel at some point) canon g7x is always a given but how is it for taking stills? Any other suggestions?

I have the G9X ii and it's incredible. Video is really good and the stills are even better. I used it on my trip to Norway and have like 1000 pictures that could be printed on posters.

How would you say it compares to an iPhone, my phone just isn't doing it for me anymore (iphone 8plus)

I'd say it's better than the iphone for sure. It has a 1" sensor which is pretty damn good in a point and shoot. Also has nice manual controls as well, super easy to use.

Depends on your budget mainly. But overall I would suggesting a Sony A7ii (A7iii if you got the budget) for that purpose. My little brother just picked one up and its amazing.

haha, that's actually going to be my next camera. but it's def not in the realm of point and shoots.

but we are talking $400 compared to $1000 (or $2000 for the iii).

Fuji xh1 for both, I don’t shoot video but ones I’ve seen are very good
