330xi Pics

Anyone with a 330xi, can you please post side shots of your car? I want to see if the increased ride height is dramatically noticable. AND feel free to post other views of your car... thanks..

Our E91 has x drive. It's not a 330i, but I think the stock suspension should be about the same in terms of height. You can see in my signature photo that there is really not much difference. Less than 1/2" I think. I'm sure others will have better shots that are more specific to your question....

wow, nice! I see in your photo that your cars have the rear view mirror folded up. Is that automatic or did you do that manually?

I'm not sure what you're seeing. The side view mirrors are out in their normal positions and the rear view's are not visible (inside the car). We typically fold in the side mirrors when pulling into the garage (just for extra wiggle room).

The US doesn't get an option of 162 style wheels for the 330xi, correct?

The style 162 wheels are in fact available as a factory option on the 330xi, but only if you buy the sport package first. (The standard wheels for the 330xi sport package are the style 158 [17"] wheels.)

Nice car. I can't tell the height difference between the xi and the i. Anyone with a closer pic?

Here's my contribution. Too bad there wasn't a 330 w/SP in the ED Delivery Center; otherwise, I could have taken a pic of the 2 next to each other.

I actually like those rims the most! Maybe it's the color on that car. The ride height is bearable.. More so than the old xi.

Which rims Jspira's optional 162's wheels & performance tires w/SP or mine 158's with standard all-seasons w/SP?

Yes the height is definitely better than the previous generation. Previously, the difference was clearly noticeable.

Hey,
Remember if you get the 330xi with the SP and 162's they will come shod with the run flat high performance summer tires. As a result, if you will be doing lots of snow driving (which I assume is why you want an xi) you will need to get a set of 18' blizzaks or some other snow tire.

If you really want 18' inch rims (162s) you should consider just getting a 330i with SP (which come with 162's) and then getting a second set of 162s with Blizzaks.

Having XI with Blizzaks is overkill.

I looked at the options and went with a 330i with SP (and 162's) and then just changed to a my winter set-up (18' 196 Radial Spoke with Blizzaks).

The Winter set up with the Blizzaks is terrific and will get you through most snow and ice.

I just think going with a 330xi with 162's (with summer tires) plus a second set (because you should not breakdown your run flats) of 162's rims mounted to a winter tire set up is overkill and $$$$.

He could get a set 17 inch rims with snow tires for the winter and save the 162 w performance tires for spring/summer/fall

If you don't mind the look of the 17 inch rims for 1/2 the year. I assumed he wanted 18 inch rims--hence the desire to get 162s.

I have an 18 inch summer (162s) and 18 winter (196s) because I think the 330i with the sports package runs much much better on 18's.

A 330i with SP on 17's does not make too much sense IMO.

The sport package on the xi does not include suspension tuning. It give you sport seats, sport steering wheel, raises the speed limiter from 130 to about 150. You get a choice of 17 rims w all season or 18 inch rims w performance tires. I believe with the 17 inch the price is about $900, and add another $600 for the larger rims. Does anyone feels the package is worth money on the all wheel drive car?
