I think you should try skateboarding again and record it

How hard is wake boarding for a beginner? I want to try it on my next upcoming beach vacay but will I be basically doing face plants the whole time?

hard to learn - but once you have it down, AWESOME day on the water

Well, I won't have a full day to get the hang of it so that doesn't really sound fun. A lesson is probably just an hour or two.

I remember my skateboarding days. Consisted of awesome threads, riding around on flat ground, 2'' ollies, and half kick flips...., X Games material, basically.

Is it bad that this still describes me at 24? I mostly longboard when going through snow withdrawal, but occasionally mess around with skating.

I like that idea better though. Would that mean shoobies are people who ride in flip flops?

And "snow" is an overstatement, more like some form of wispy frozen precipitation. But it was below freezing for the first time.

I'm in Grand Rapids, so about as far north as Milwaukee.

Oh I think my favorite e92 is from there. Did you ever meet member Mashimarho (Sean) before he moved out west this year?

The concrete has gotten far to hard to start skating again. lol

You'll do a few face plants, but once you get up, it's fairly easy to stay up and for a beginner, it's quite rewarding to get up and ride around.

I was a little more proficient. A few of the guys i skated with went pro a few years after i quite. And i was the only one of our group that was sponsored before i quite. Having my parents' huge ass driveway and back yard filled with ramps probably helped. Tampa was largely untapped for the skating industry and being that most all the skaters in the city knew me for my little skate park; i'm guessing that played into why they wanted me to be riding their gear and wearing their stuff. The guys i rode with are still in it. They built SPOT which is one of the largest, coolest skate parks in FL. They've actually hosted some of Tony Hawks' tour jams. Good times..... Damn cars supplanted my love for skating and ate up all my money.

It is fun to see some kids kicking around on boards and asking them if i can try it. Then busting out a kick flip or rail slide really freaks them out. lol I'm sure they looking for some lulz at my expense. So seeing their faces after i do something they're struggling with is pretty fun. Makes me feel like Marty McFly in BTTF. haha

Even still, I'm from S. Heights so I remember it snowing as early as the beginning of October and as late as April. Do miss boarding up in Gaylord, fun times.

Oh, so you were the cool kid in town that had all the ramps and shit I always lusted after when I saw blueprints in the CCW catalogs!

That'd be priceless. A kick flip was the only thing I ever got down, once I did, I just did kick flips around town for a while, then I realized that's all I could aspire to and picked up cars since my feet didn't need to leave the ground.

Be like me and buy a pedal bike. Now everyone in the neighborhood will know me as the guy who smokes and drinks on his pedal bike.

It's healthy and active and a great way to get yourself outside!
