AMG GT R Black Series
With the anticipated return of AMG's "Black Series" cars, the first new car to receive the BS treatment in years, the AMG GT R, has just leaked online. Most of the design is fairly unsurprising given the numerous spy shots and overall looks to be inspired by the AMG GT3 race car.
According to "Fastabast" a Nürburgring service which lets you experience a lap in the passenger seats of vehicles, the GT R-BS will have an extended carbon fiber bodykit and track tuned suspension for the Nordschleife. They also state the GT R-BS will use the same 4.0L Biturbo V8 as other AMG's and will make 720 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, getting the RWD sports car to 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, with a 199mph top speed. Fastabast also claims it should do a full lap on the Nürburgring in 6 minutes and 58 seconds. Still unknown is how much the car has lost in weight savings as well as how many vehicles will be produced although it is rumored that buyers who reserved an AMG Project One will have first dibs and prices expected to be more than $250k. https://www.motor1.com/news/432782/n...orsepower/amp/ https://www.fastabast.com/nuerburgri...ck-series.html Update: Official teaser photo and video from Mercedes added. Looks amazing with the exception of that insano wing! I know it's functional but...yeah.

Looks a bit like a largemouth bass or some angry big mouth creature but pretty well all big grill cars these days look a little cartoonish. As a guy that has done his time with EVO's and STI's I have to admit I'm pretty well over the big wings. I get that it's functional but it also looks terrible.

Still prefer the W204 BS over this regardless of its capabilities.
And that multi-tiered park bench wing looks like it was designed in the 80's, the decade of excess. How many rails of cocaine can be tooted off that thing?

Nice. I don’t recall seeing many/any of the M17X engines breaking the 700hp mark. Getting closer to the 200 hp/liter achieved by AMG in a 2 liter 4 cylinder.
Look for powertrain tech in this BS to show up in other AMG vehicles specifically S63 and E63s. Also has implications for Aston and Pagani to set the stage for a world with no V12. |

They absolutely race their AMG GT race cars, and rumors are this thing runs a sub 7 min ring time which is right on par with a 991.2 RS.

I feel the same, and that goes for the Porsche GT's as well. I'd remove that eyesore in a heartbeat, and have Singer fab me up something that was as elegant as the rest of the car. I don't track, so I wouldn't miss the insane downforce.
