I'd still recommend trying it on though, I think big piglet is too big personally, and I have large wrists.

But, that's just my opinion.

It is big yes....but i tend to prefer a larger watch. Didn't realize that was 40-42. 44 is my preferred size, 46, 47 are ok as well.

How do you like Panerai? They have a lot available in that range. And the Big Pilot is a nice watch in that size range as well.

Their following and good advertising..... That's probably the biggest thing they have going for them.

Their cases are also well built and lock together very well for good water tightness.

Otherwise, everything is 100% in house (i've been told, this even includes the machines that make the parts)

Their movements are no better then anybody elses, but they can claim they are made by Rolex with nobody elses parts, and that's important to a lot of people.

Their designs don't change much, so everything is very traditional, some see that as a positive, some see it as a negative, in my opinion, it is a positive as it means that it's always "in style"

I personally am not a fan of rolex watches, never liked how they look on me, but I do respect them as a brand, I just feel there's more interesting watches out there at similar, more interesting, or better quality for the same price.

I feel the same exact way. Plenty of respect for the brand, and they certainly have thier share of iconic pieces, but I just don't like them. I'd consider a ceramic sub, but at twice the MSRP of my Omega PO, it's certainly not twice the watch. People will go on about 904L, the in-house movement, the resale value, etc... but I still can't bring myself to see the value.

well if an 18-wheeler runs over both, a rolex will make it. that's why i have a rolex.

Yes it really looks a lot better in person, right? My wife surprised me with this as my wedding gift a couple years ago. I really loved the 7-day port auto but I'm not complaining!

As The1 said, 40.9mm. However it wears a lot larger since there is no bezel, the face is almost 100% all dial. I have tiny wrists so don't use my pic as judgement. I love the big pilot too but it is way too big for my wrists. That watch just has something about it that pops out at you, beautiful piece.

Not as "nice" as some of my other watches (definitely not as much as some of the ones you guys are posting!) but I have been rocking the Pebble lately. It's awesome and incredibly useful.

Love panerai. I own two and I'm always looking at others.

Tudor Tiger edition prince date

My dad is a watchmaker at Rolex USA and he wanted to give me one if I took the medical path and became a doctor

I became an engineer instead...

So the Tudor was a compromise?

And I'm impressed to see a Tudor on someone's wrist in the USA. Good find

Weird, I was run over by 3 different 18 wheelers just last week, and each time I thought, "I hope my watch survives this"

Another watch thread has "mikethesnake" commenting that he wrote his sub off when he wrote his motorcycle off, so definitely not a bulletproof watch.

If you guys want bullet proof, get army inspired watches. Kobald makes big claims about their durability as well.

Better yet, save 5500$ and get a g-shock.

Nope, not a compromise at all. I didn't want to wear something that big of a caliber when I rarely wear watches in the first place.
