Upgrading from E92 to the F82
I own a 2008 E92 that I have been extremely happy with over the course of my ownership. I paid ~ $64K for the car fully loaded in 08 and of course it is fully paid for now. I am struggling with deciding if the new F82 offers enough new excitement to go into debt purchasing one?
Who else has made the upgrade and are you satisfied with your investment? |

You are exactly right, it is a toy! I've had 11 BMW's and it's hard to imagine not having one in the drive way, but I'm intrigued by other less expensive toys like the current Vette. Entirely different vehicle, but it blows away the M4 in comparison and can probably be had easily for $10K less or more. It's always helpful to get insight from people that have already taken the plunge! |

The vette blows away? In what way sir?
Not in build quality, not in tranny, not in straighline speed, not in practicality and not really around the curves... so what then?

The M4 is honestly a hell of a car though. Most here would pick the m4 for two reasons. -need back seats -its a BMW I think the corvette is worth a look if you dont need the back seats. There are a few guys who use to own E92s and or F80 who went from a stingray/ or to a stingray. I am sure they could help you out. there are threads in both E90 section and F80 section about this. |

I chose M3 since it was jack of all trades (4dr, MT, haul ass, looks good, and FUN) |

But the Corvette Stingray costs less, has more power and torque, weighs less and is probably the better driver's car. The build quality and interior design have both improved leaps and bounds. The Corvette also gets astonishing fuel efficiency in economy mode. The vette is less suited for being a daily driver despite the fact that it gets great gas mileage.

Genuine curiosity, what would you call the best dual clutch box, if excluding the F-car box? Every P-car to F8x review I've seen seems to hold a higher regard for the M-DCT than the PDK, and to my knowledge the PDK has been the gold standard dual-clutch unit (in cars under a quarter mil) for quite a few years.

The Z51 build for the Corvette was around $65k from what I remember. But i'm sure people can get $6k off a corvette. So in the end, prices are very similar. Surprisingly, I was able to get 26.x mpg on a 400miles road trip with the M3. I wasn't driving it easy or anything either. |

http://www.corvettevideos.tv/corvett...e-c7-stingray/ The fact that a C7 can pull it given the M4 is making a lot more is a true statement to how potent it is in stock form. I like the M3, but its certainly no 991, base or otherwise. Speed can never take the place of feel, feedback and pure athleticism in what is a very good GT car. The 991 moved the game of GT and Sports Cars ahead to epic levels. I am excited to see how they implement turbos considering the 911 turbo has always been a favorite car to me. It's the ideal DD and weekend track supercar. |

They belonged to two friend of mine. Seems you're making assumptions and taking things out of context, no?
