I’m still concerned Ferrari is opting for the qualifying setup instead of adopting a racier setup. Their higher downforce helps them set a quick lap but it’s not good for race day. Most of the passing in Baku happens on the main straight and they were saying RB is 9kph faster on the top end. Charlie better pull away early.

Good to see Checo get comfortable in the car and RB finally have a driver not getting swallowed alive by Max, he’s been on form all year, especially the last few races, I’m surprised he’s outperforming Max.

I woke up at the end of Q2, what happened to the McLarens?

I think Perez might've received "a phone call"... Just like in good ole' NASCAR. If so, then Max might be at a disadvantage from set-up, or software, or something else(?). Perez definitely deserves a win after the Red Bull Monaco team orders / bias debacle. Funny how all those cars just happened to be in the way on Max's FP3 flying lap.. And not just one or two rolling road blocks but many.. Watch for HAM's car to breakdown or have an accident to save HAM from a purposing back injury. The whole world is a stage.. But a fun one at times.

Toto says they need a smooth surface, even then they are off the pace by quite a bit.

Yeah the w13 has alot of bugs, only chance they win this year is if the top guys screw up or DNF.

Literally if it's not porpoising it's bouncing because of the suspension, otherwise it's doing both simultaneously. Merc should probably just focus on next year.



In a more positive light Ferrari looks ridiculously fast, redbull is right up there. I'm glad check is really dialed in, it's crazy how he's out performing max in these last 3 race weekends, but I'm glad he's doing ok and got resigned for 2 years.

It's going bad , really bad for Mercedes ! Actually even worse !

They are (still) having the heavier B-Spec car behind the curtains with sidepods !
Don't know if it is possible to bring it in with the budget cap . But if it is possible they should bring it ASAP !

That Mercedes 5H1T box is bouncing against the asphalt like crazy at 300+ kph !
In other words : The thing is in split seconds 'steerless ...

It's just a matter of time , before the (passenger) in the Mercedes ends up in a disaster !
Honestly .I don't want to see that . It's time for Wolff that he wakes up !

Yeah it is pretty bad for merc, well bad relative to previous years since they are still best of the rest which is well what alot of teams are striving for.


That's their launch spec car - the car with side pods. However if it is suspension and other details causing the issues then it won't help either. Probably not a good idea to be blowing money like that in the era of budget caps.


I mean I don't think it's Toto's fault, it takes time for engineers to come up with a solution. But either way I don't think merc should focus on 22 anymore, it would be impossible for them to have a chance unless they came out with a car over 1 second faster than the rest of the field and 1,2'ed every single race left. So yeah that's not likely and it is better to just develop for next year.

I think where redbull went really really right this year is their suspension, I think it is really well designed to prevent the whole bouncing issue and prevent it from being too stiff (if rumours about their 2 stage damping is correct)

Back for a few hours to catch up and I was expecting the RB's to be in a Ferrari sandwich as quali goes.
I see that Max is just a whisker behind Checo so maybe that's good that 11 will put the squeeze on Lec if he can for a while Max takes a 'breather' before launching a move later on.
A B car in waiting for HAM and RUS you say, will it make any difference?

I have no idea my friend , If the Mercedes B-Spec car would make any difference ..
One thing is for sure , the B has (at least) sidepods to fight the extreme bouncing .
Won't be easy with the '22 budget cap ..
The Mercedes bouncing looks very dangerous !
The Merc drivers are actually passengers and I fear the worst ...

Once again , Charlie pulled a great pole lap . 4 poles in a row with the Ferrari superfast PU !
The Ferrari looks so well driveable and balanced at every track and it looks unbeatable during QF !

Red Bull Isn't finding the right balance between the front and rear end , that's why the RB18 Isn't fast enough in the slower corners .
MAX said : I can't fight the turns like I did before with the high rake concept , that's why I'm losing time in the slow turns. We are working on it , but as we know nothing is easy to understand issues completely with these '22 cars ..

On the other hand : Ferrari ran today with the well know QF setup .
And Red Bull ran with (as usual) with the race setup .

So ....'Suspense is guaranteed !

I'd stay at AT before switching too either!!! RIC has been chasing a fast car his whole career to his detriment.
